Claimed to be from Telstra and that I had malicious software but I don’t use Telstra for any service. Hung up as soon as I mentioned this.

Nobody on line when I answered. Probably a scam

This number is from a Phishing Centre. They call and take a chance that the person they've called is a Telstra customer. They then claim that they have detected illegal activity on your internet service and try to get you to log onto a website or download software. Unless you'd like some sport in abusing Indian Phishers, which is always fun, then avoid this number.

Like other here, scam call from Telstra saying my internet has been compromised.

When I told her I don't use Telstra she got offended and said 'surely you must know that Telstra supply all internet infrastructure'

Called claimed to be from Telstra about illegal activity on my internet service. Am not with Telstra. Asked him if I should get my credit card ready which he replied yes. I then advised him what he could do with his scam.

Caller: Possibly the Telstra scammer already mentioned

This obviously overseas scammer rang right in the middle of the Melbourne Cup I dialled th number back & surprise surprise this number was incomplete / disconnected 3/11/20

this number rang me, I answered, nobody there. Then they hung up. I think its a scammer checking if phone numbers are genuine maybe.

Caller: Woman, Indian/SriLankan accent

SAid she was with Telstra Tech services. Said other parties were using my interenet connection. Was my service slow? I asked who she was. Gave an "emplyee number". Asked for her department's number. She gave (03) 9028 7765. Said Telstra info services wouldn;t know about this number as she was related to the cyber security dept. Led her on a bit but clearly not who she said she was, but had a story to tell for every question. When I replied "suspicious, I'm not with Telstra", she replied everyone ultimately uses Telstra infrastructure. Trick is not to give away any of your details when talking to such scammers.

Caller: Indian guy

Indian guy on the phone, said his name was Steve. Claimed he be from Telstra and that they’ve detected illegal activity on my internet connection.

When I asked for his location he claimed he was in Melbourne, when pushed for a suburb he gave a street address in Melbourne city, still pushed for a suburb he gave 3000 Victoria. I explained the concept of suburbs and he said he didn’t know because he was new to the country and this was a relatives address. At this point I told him he was a scammer and a terrible liar and hung up on him

Caller: claimed to be from telstra

Said they were calling from telstra, wanted to know how our internet was (we don't have internet service through telstra), said they showed that someone was accessing our internet from outside the home. They hung up as soon as we questioned them .

Said he was from Optus and that I had malicious hardware on my computer and that he will need access to my computer He has rung twice today 30/10/2020 and will ring back when I`am home to fix the problem
Sounded very misleading from the word GO

Abusing on the phone

Said from Telstra (I’m not with Telstra) and said that I had Malware issues going out all over the Internet. I hung up on him.
