I get this call from "Carlton" for raffles. They also ring my land line!

This is great to know that all club members are copping this number. I'm a Hawthorn member so obviously all clubs are using this service. They said they were from Hawthorn which is obviously a lie. They should have to say they are from "Whatever their company is" ringing on behalf of the Hawthorn (or whichever) Football Club.

I really hate this outsourcing. A mate of mine was once accused of not supporting the club for not buying a raffle ticket outside of a game. My mate was instrumental in Operation Payback which helped get Hawthorn out of its financial dire straits in 1996. He was furious as it was obviously the seller wasn't part of the club (my mate tested him by asking who wears 37 for Hawthorn - Angelo Lekkas who was one of our better players at the time). I'll continue to ignore - thanks for the heads up.

I get calls also. I am an Essendon member. I never answer them.

They were trying to sell me a book of tickets for $100 today. Also said it came with various vouchers I could use.

I don't think being on the 'Do Not Call' register makes any difference if you're a member of an AFL club, and the company is ringing on behalf of that club. Just got a call on behalf of North Melbourne (of which I'm a member) - they'd been trying for months on my mobile and I'd been ignoring the call. When I ignored the call today they just rang the landline.

What you have to remember, if you block the number, most will ring from a blocked or another number
Best way to tackle any unwanted calls is to tag the number with dont answer or whatever and dont answer the call.
Blocking the number doesnt help sometimes
