I called back number (03) 9796 9144 rang once then gets disconnected automatically.

These people have phoned me numerous times and have been told repeatedly that I’m not interested in their products and to remove me from their databases. They continue to phone me, will be reporting to telecommunications ombudsman, sick of this harassment

spam about bogus government grant

Repeat calls from this number - no message left. When I called back from a different line I got an automatic message saying the phone number was disconnected.

This is the second time in one week I have had calls from numbers with this prefix 039796 ... When I call back get recorded message saying number cannot be connected. Obviously some scam where they can get an Australian number for outgoing calls only. Why do the telphone companies allow this? Who do we complain to? Last week, one number rang my 8 times in 2&1/2 hours.
