After many years from buying from the Good Guys - the treatment my husband and myself received from the Traralgon Store was appalling and WE WILL NEVER BE BACK - Betta Electrical, here we come. We will make sure others are aware as well, as Social Media is right up in communication to the world these days via Facebook, Company websites, Alumni Fraternities, Support and Product Companies and Trades People. We have already accessed these sites. We have spoken with Fischer & Paykel who have been most helpful and we have supplied the requested details to them, as they were not happy with Good Guys with the treatment of their (F&P) customers.
After deciding on the type of washing machine we purchased it We also noted the receipt was shoved under our nose and not one person explained how it works. Always read the fine print!!!! Apparently the Good Guys Cannot.!!
We purchased the small washing machine (for one of our rental homes) We got back to Melbourne to buy a kettle which we forgot to purchase while we were there and so we went to Harvey Norman, whilst there checked on the price of the washing machine and it was cheaper!!! rang Traralgon to use the 120% guarantee policy
and they wouldnt return any calls (understandable with xmas trade) however we continued to ring the next day. My husband spoke with VICKY the customer service manager and he explained the situation. He found her to be extremely rude, abrupt and he was aggressively abused which infused him. So he was in a nut shell was basically told to P.... off.
After receiving the poor customer service, we looked under their terms and conditions online and found that we were correct. So currently we are being assisted on the correct legal representation required and case building for VCAT.
Should head office of The Good Guys decide to contact us - they can through the Good Guys at Traralgon, but as yet have not returned any of hour calls there either.
So GUESS WHAT Good Guys
We wont be back and Betta Electrical next door to you will have our business for all our homes in our portfolio,
CHEERS AND MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Purchased a dvd player in the online store. Supposed to be quick, easy cheap transaction to save going into a store. Straight out of the box it hasn't worked - no dvd will play right through without stopping or endless static, but the same dvds will play on other devices. However, to get a refund I am informed that I have to drive 1.5hrs roundtrip to a store, and then wait for product assessment and possible eventual reimbursement. A $32 mistake on my part to stupidly think a new product should work. It is not worth the cost of the petrol or time to return for a 'maybe' refund on a defective product, and the Warners Bay store says there is no alternative to direct store return. I didn't read the fine print - other online stores use couriers for returns. Don't get caught with the Good Guys. I have previously purchased large whitegoods from them but will never purchase from them again. Remedy welcome - 0408 477 226

I was told by Tanya Daniels from Tanya Daniels The Good Guys in Ballarat that I was wasting her time.
Last time I checked I was still the customer and a customer that has spent multiple thousands of dollars in this store over the past 6 plus years buying white and brown goods for business purposes.
Apparently she wont do business with companies that have the word rent or rental as part of their name anymore, but if I was to use another name with out these words it was OK.
She was extremely rude to me, as yes I have questioned this bazaar decision on a number of occasions now only because I have never received an answer that has made any sense. She actually told me that she was too business too deal with me on this anymore and that I was wasting her time. Sorry I called you a dill, I meant to say you are a dill. Any way the JB Hi Fi store and Harvey Norman store in Ballarat are certainly enjoying my on going business now. Bad attitudes like this from Tanya Daniels from Tanya Daniels The Good Guys Ballarat do and will always bite you on the backside.

The Good Guys owner at Tweed is on the radio today calling for the sacking of our democratically elected Mayor. I think Rory Curtis should leave his T-Party conservative ideas at home because I will not shop with him as I do not support his narrow views, manner or values.

Troy Wiiliams - The Good Guys Townsville.
Steer clear of this store. Troy Wiiliams, his store manager Peter Crewdson and another staff member Glen Weston are completely unhelpful, bullying and ignorant.

In September 2011 we purchased around $4000 worth of electrical goods, essentially seven digital TV's, as it was the end of analogue transmissions.

Before May 2012 two of the TV's had failed. It took the Good Guys Townsville more than five months to rememdy one of the failures.

In May 2012 a $2500 TV set failed in that its screen display became distorted and corrupted. A request at that time to the Good Guys Townsville to have the set replaced was ignored totally by the Good Guys in Townsville.

In February of 2013 the $2500 TV set failed completely in that it would not properly switch on, only cycle through the "Samsung" screen for hours on end. Again the Good Guys in Townsville will not replace the set stating that we will get only what is provided under the extended warranty we purchased.
Qld consumer law is very clear that in this instance we have the right to a replacement or full refund.

Once again if you have a choice steer well clear of this ignorant "Good Guys" outlet whose delaying and bullying tactics do the brand absolutely no favours.

I DO NOT WISH to make a complaint

I want to congralute the Good guys store at Mt.Gravatt, Brisbane.

Karen could not do enough for myself yesterday. I did purchase over $2000.00 of appliances but nothing was a problem to her and took the time to source the correct appliances suited to my needs.

I have been a good guys supporter since Looking after Jamie Oliver and his ministry of foods tour 2 years ago and travelled australia with him. What the good guys do for his charity is exceptional and everyone should shop at the good guys.

Well done KAREN and the Good guys

I would like to make a complaint about your Manager at your Shepparton Store, Rodney Arthur, he is a very condesending man, who screamed at me that I wasn't listening.....I had my vaccuum repair but it has ongoing issues and its still under warranty...Had I been informed about this vaccuum I would never had purchased it...I am now stuck with getting a new vaccuum or keep paying the ongoing costs...the original cost was $380.00....I had spent nearly $3000.00 the day I purchased this vaccuum....I wanted a refund and was told NO...and when I disputed the fact...I was screamed at that I wasn't listening and no refund would be forthcoming....very very bad customer service...and I will be reporting him and this company to the ACCC, as I was well within your refund policy set by the ACCC ....

SUBJECT: COMPLAINT; VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER!!!

To the Manager,

I am writing to you about my experience at the good guys Ted Chwasta at your Thomastown store.

A few months ago we purchased x3 items; Oven, dishwasher, Range hood, at over $4,000 worth to put in to our beautifully newly renovated home.
We organised with our sales assistant to have the 2 remaining Items; Oven and Dishwasher, ready for me to pick up on 22/12/12.

On the morning of 22/12/12 my husband arrived to your store at the pick up part of the entrance to your warehouse only to notice that you warehouse staff were throwing your costly goods around as if they were worthless. Any how, after arriving and having paid for a hired a truck to pick up the goods, we were advised that our oven of over $2,000 had fallen off the forklift and been damaged in your warehouse due to nothing less than gross negligence and that the goods will not be ready until early January.
They offered to fix the severely damaged door but I didn’t want to be paying over $2,000 for damaged stock that had been cosmetically fixed because who knows what internal damage there was.
Rosa who was our sales assistant, advised that she would call other stores to see if we could have another one sent but unfortunately there would be none available until January 03/01/13.
As you may appreciate when you are renovating a “bump” in the road like this can prove to be quite costly and timely as we would have to rebook the trades for late January and still pay a service and late cancellation fee and would have to rebook the trades for late January when they reopen so this is a mistake we could not afford.

Rosa called at 4.00pm later that day and advised me to come in with my husband to choose something else as there was no replacement stock and they assured me that her self and the manager on duty as well as Ted Chwasta himself had searched high and low to try and assist us with the predicament that the company has put us in due to negligence.
When we arrived to the store the oven/s that we had to choose from were a minimum of $400.00 more expensive than the one we had already purchased and we were at a vulnerable position where we had to choose something and I feel that we were trying to be taken advantage of.
After a long discussion with Rosa, who was trying her best to help us, I asked to speak to the manager on duty for the day and explained to him the situation and he assured me that he and ted Chwasta had tried the utmost to help.
I then asked the manager if he would discount one of the ovens we were looking at and he advised that there was absolutely no way he could give us a $400.00 discount- even though it was at the hands of inexperienced warehouse operators that put us in this position and we were good customers already spending over $4,000 in your store anyhow.
So, after a lengthy discussion with my husband we decided to have a refund of $3,800 for the outstanding goods- which the manager was very happy to give us, obviously the economic downturn has not affected your business which is great to hear!

So, with our refund in our hand we took our business across the road to Harvey Norman where they were more than willing to help us and transfer stock in order to assist two great customers who wanted to buy.

As a result of this great customer service we also decided to buy a $3,000 fridge which we were going to buy from the Good Guys if we had of had our needs met but instead of giving us a $400 discount to assist a mistake that good guys had made initially, the good guys not only lost a $3,800 sale but they also lost a sale they would have made of $3,000.
So, in effect the good guys lost a $6,800 sale all because they wouldn’t assist us with a $400.00 discount to fix a mistake that that the company made.
Seeing as though we were paying customers, what ever happened to customer service and customer retention?

As a result of this we will NEVER be purchasing another thing from any of your stores and will be notifying all of my friends and family of the situation we were put in and who a few by coincidence are renovating /building at the moment.

I hope this gives you a good indication of how your store/s are being run and how buying customers are being treated.
After all of the stress of renovating is over and our great customer service at Harvey Norman my husband I and will be having a well deserved start to the New Year.

Kind regards,

Maria Forgione

What a terrible company to deal with. DONOT deal with this company. They surely cannot be operating within the law. The will take your money instantly, but when it comes to a refund, boy.... I'm told 2 weeks. 2 weeks. Before Xmas, and basically I am relying on money they basically lied to get off me, and now are just giving me the run around!!! Do not support this company!!!

In April of this ear I purchased a stove from G.G. Dandenong store. After the tradseman installed the appliance the bottom right hand side of the stove was found to be crumpled. As a result the bottom drawer does not close properly and the over cooks unevenly. The manager and staff refused to replace the stove, even with a 3 year warranty and as yet had not been in operation. They referred me to the manufacturer who only wants to replace the damaged panel and refuse to acknowledge any other problems. There has been many, frustrating conversations with both the store and the manufacturer. The store staff admitted that the stove was not checked before delivery, stating it was not their policy to do so. My No. is 0488 567 229
