Hi Everyone,

I agree that the calls are persistent, but you know something, I actually had a positive experience. I have read all of the above comments and thought I might share mine in the hope that if there is someone out there who does have hearing problems they may be able to help you. I have always been hard of hearing, had grommets three times when i was little and didn't know but my hearing loss was going. I was always reading lips and pretended i was fine, i would tell people i had a cold and couldn't hear because of that. I had a car accident that woke me up, and I actually rang the National Hearing Centre myself (yes i know i reached out first) and they helped me heaps, yes the consultation is free, but they did need a letter from my doctor as a referral to ensure that my GP was on the same page. I had very little hearing and was offered to purchase hearing aids (yes i get that they are a business), there are many different ones and I chose the ones that suited my budget. The reason why they call me now is to remind me about batteries, servicing my hearing aids and also check up appointments. In my opinion they helped me lots and I recommend them to anyone who has problems with their hearing. You may not be as severe as I was with hearing loss, but it just might be worth checking out if you are in doubt.

Don't understand why they ring but hangup before actually speaking? Can only assume it's so that I have then called them so they have that noted down somewhere as me initiating the contact?..(Very few years back my initial thought would have been it's so as I'm forking out for any charges involved:O)
Best bet is to ensure your details are kept updated on the DNC register. Be aware you have to add your number every year whether your number has altered or not.
Takes very little time to politely inform them that you will initiate the call should their product/service ever be required..then ask for their coys details, etc so you have for future reference if they insist on your number NOT being removed from their system
Having once been less than pleasant to a cold caller myself(those hello im from microsoft idiots)be warned if nothing else, mine had been trained to perfection on the not so subtle art of retaliation! The frequency of calls got so bad I needed Telstra to tracecallers location, blah blah.
Just be mindful, it may just be the onlyjob your mother, brother or sister can get for now SO be nice ;-)

Please be aware that the Victorian Deaf Society (Vicdeaf) does NOT participate in tele-fundraising. These calls are in no way associated with our organisation and we will be looking into this. Regards, Gill - Vicdeaf - (03) 9473 1199.

This number never stops calling , i simply hang up or let the a m take it , of course the compter clicks off and the calls keep coming .Iif a person takes this type of job then expect to have people annoyed when you call people in their homes , with no repect to what is going on in their life ex someone in hospital dying and they're waiting on a call but No its a tele marketer , someone extremely ill woken by calls from tele marketers = no respect for peoples privacy ! Telstra , DoDo , Members of Government Parties and numerous charities do this and it's freakin annoying . Where has our right to privacy gone # Shame on those that think it is ok to employ perple to annoy people for a living!
