This was in an email supposedly sent from Microsoft, wanting to phone regarding Licenses. It was a good copy, but email/links didn't quite line up, and the contact person was wrong to what we have registered. They didn't list any verifying info, like the licenses in question. The licences the customer has don't finish support till 2023 and talking to MS is pointless, as MS don't sell these types of licenses direct. If this is Microsoft, I'm royally p*ssed as they should contact the IT suppliers, not the customer directly.
MS has never done this. I'm calling scam.

I'm a small business IT admin. Had one of my sites contacted by this number about 'Microsoft Licensing' asking their IT to call back. I rang the number waiting on hold for quite a while, alarm bells where ringing after no mention of Microsoft anything. Spoke with Aeona regarding licensing and after 5 minutes still could not tell if it was legit although no clear exploit motive was present. Once the conversation had ended she emailed me a break down on the call. The email address is correctly coming from a @microsoft.com email address. Details match records for the business open licenses, which also explains why they contact the business direct as they are listed in the portal as main contact. The push was more to consider Microsoft 365, probably spurred on by the recent Exchange vulnerabilities.
Claiming to be from Microsoft yet had no knowledge of our licencing. It's a 3rd party scam to sell you an upgrade or something.
Caller: Said she was Microsoft
Yona called from Microsoft, said our licences were coming to an end. Judging by the other comments here it's a 3rd party.
Claimed to be Eoen from Microsoft regarding our licenses renewing in July. All about their CSP program which would allow me to renew through a partner rather than direct with Microsoft.
Admitted eventually that she was not in fact from Microsoft but from a reseller (maybe even a real one). Since she had started our conversation with a direct lie and had confirmed it once and then only retracted when pressed again, I told her we would never do business with someone who straight out lied to us. hung up.
not a reputable business at all.
Yuna called who was apparently from Microsoft. She said our Microsoft Licenses and is about to expire. I feel like this is a scam
She said her name was Fiona and calling from Microsoft. She had an accent but her English was good enough to understand quite easily. She said Microsoft Licenses and is coming to end of support.

She said her name was Liz from Microsoft. She had an accent but her English was good. She said our 'Microsoft Exchange' licences were going to expire in July. She wanted to know all sorts of information about my business. I did not oblige. Microsoft do not make cold calls.
