Caller: Caller: Yet another Telstra Scam call. Kept them on for 25mins.

Call from an Indian in Telstra Technical Department about errors in my internet connection.

They stated that my NBN would be disconnected for the next 15 days as someone from overseas had hacked my internet connection and stolen my details.

I try to keep scammers like this on the phone as long as possible.
It annoys them and prevents them scamming someone else while they are trying to scam me.

They try to identify your computer OS by finding out the key next to the left ctrl key.
This way they can use their Windows or Mac “script” to customise the remote hack for your computer.

I try to really confuse them.
I told them there was a large A next to the ctrl key.
They asked if it was Windows or Mac.
Told them it was an Amiga computer running AmigaOS 4.1 (aka as Workbench).
Of course this also means their pre-prepared Mac/Windows speech is now worthless.

If they want to know about the Amiga OS refer them to to www.a-eon.com.
If they ask where you get software from say www.amient.net and www.amiga.org,
Sometimes they ask for the name of your internet browser.
If they do say that you use a variation of Firefox as your internet browser.

Got transferred to their supervisor. Went through the whole thing again.

He tried to get me to download some remote access software (from www.anydesk.com or www.teamviewer.com) to help them do the remote hack my system. Told them that there were no versions of these software programs that would run on my Amiga. I could tell that this pissed them off.

At first they claimed i had corrupt files.
Then they said that someone had hacked my system.
Then once they realised they could not remote hack my system they stated that someone had hacked my system and using my information too make illegal bank transfers.

Apparently instead of calling the cops they wanted me to give them my credit/debit card details. Told them I had no credit/debit card.
They started to get desperate as my money was slipping through their hands.

So they told me to go to "the store" (they did not say which), and buy some steam cards then read the numbers on them.
So they could use the money on the cards. Of course they would “pay me back” for the cost.

Told them I would not do this as they already stated to me that they knew i was not responsible for the illegal transfers.
Told them they should call the cops and let them deal with it.

They stated the cops would be around tomorrow and hung up.
I do not expect the cops any time soon.

Managed to keep them online for about 25 mins before they gave up.
A new record for me.

(03) 9018 7477 called saying they are from Telstra to fix my internet. BEWARE this is 100% a scam, just hang up, or waste their time for a few minutes then hang up. Do not let them install remote software on your PC otherwise you'll be in big trouble.

Caller: claimed to be from Telstra in Melbourne

Yet another scam. Claimed to be from Telstra Technical Support in Melbourne. My internet is supposedly being cut for the next 2 weeks. I told her that Telstra doesn't call people over such things and that they use another method of communication to let me know when my internet is going to be interrupted so if you are from Telstra please use my preferred method of communication.
Stupid then tried to phone again an hour later and I let it go to message bank.

I phoned Telstra about a different TELSTRA SCAM NUMBER which they blocked. This is a new number (same scam though). Breeding like viral plague rabbits. REPORT THEIR PHONE NUMBERS TO THE POLICE AND LET THEM TRACK THE "£$%^^^^ DOWN.

This number seems a real nasty one according to others, my phone was unattended at the time, and no message was left.

Caller: Some foreign sounding lady

Told me Telstra was shutting down the NBN for 15 days. I said yes, so what has that got to do with me, I am not with Telstra. She said everyone is connected through Telstra regardless of which company they are with. She then asked me to allow her access to my computer remotely. I told her my computer is not working at the moment. She hung up. I might add I have been getting these calls around 5 o clock every day.

Caller: Claiming to be Telstra

Spam call claiming the they were from Telstra and demanded that I turn my computer on right now so they could talk me through fixing it from hackers who have accessed my computer. Went on with illegal activity, internet was going to be disconnected etc and the only way to fix it was for them to fix it right now online. When I asked her to verify that she was from Telstra she told me she would be able to verify her identity once I was online. I asked to give me my account number and she then hung up.

On answering, sounded like call centre background noise...accented lady started her spiel saying she was from Telstra, and that my internet was going to be cut off in two weeks, etc. etc. etc.
Let her talk for a bit, then told her that I'd worry about the internet cutting off when it happened, and then hung up.
Number now blocked.
