Purporting to be Telstra.
Saying they had identified suspicious activity at my IP address.
Gave the above Phone No.
Asked me to identify myself and she hung up when I said she should know the details of the account holder. Heavy accent, noisy call centre type background.

Automated message from "ATO" I pressed '1' to talk to one of their "staff members" and I trolled them for 5 minutes whilst I pretended to log in to my bank account. The person had a (assumed) male voice and an Indian accent and said I "owned money". I shouted at them eventually and they hung up and seemed to block the number. Couldn't call back though

Claiming to be the ATO and some issue with my tax file number which will result in me being arrested unless I contact them.

Missed a call from the "ATO" while I was currently on a call to the actual ATO. Total BS about your TFN being fraudulently taken and used for illicit purposes, all attempts at correspondence have failed due to mail being undelivered, there's a warrant out for your arrest etc. I'm comforted by the fact that, if they can't find my address, there's no way that arrest warrant will ever find me. Oi vey, the idiocy of some of these scams.

Said they were ATO. I told them don’t bother asking for any of my details as I won’t give it to them. I will ring ATO directly from their website and ask them if they need me for anything. He then hung up on me

Sam from "Commander" calling regarding Telstra phone lines. If that doesn't set off alarm bells then I don't know what will. I think this goes without saying but never under any circumstances give out your details to anyone over the phone, if they want to spin you a story spin one back to them.

Left voicemail claiming to be from ATO saying I am under investigation for tax evasion. Poor sounding automated voice and cut out for half of message. Definitely a scam.

Didn't answer but left an automated artificial male voice message that repeated the number that I was called from twice, saying that if I didn't call back they would need to issue an arrest warrant and "get back to me as soon as possible". Definitely a scam.

I was cold called on my (silent) landline phone by a person who said that he was a technician from Telstra and that he wanted to fix my (Telstra) internet connection. I asked him to give me a phone number to verify who he was. This is the number he gave me. I rang this number and another person answered and confirmed that Max Cooper worked as a senior technician for Telstra. 'Max Cooper' rang back my landline number and I believed he was genuine, so I allowed remote access to my home computer. He used all kinds of malware to take control of my computer. In the end he said he could not 'fix' my computer internet without installing an anti-virus certificate. I said no. The call ended. Straight after - my desktop icons all disappeared, so the screen became blank. Its like he cut all the icons (with information attached) and pasted them onto his computer. I felt I was a victim of identity theft. I have been dealing with Telstra since the scam. I had to cancel my landline number because I had further scam calls accusing me of owing money. This has been a traumatic experience. I learnt that this is a very common scam, with overseas low-lifes using voice operated internet calling, which make it difficult to trace. What I can't understand is why organisations (not only Telstra) are not informing the public, so when calls of this nature come in, people know that the best thing to do is to not give out ANY information, put down the phone quickly and call the legitimate organisation by their official phone number. This incident has also been reported to the police and to ACORN (Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network), with internet address of: www.acorn.gov.au

Caller: Caller identified himself as Victor from Telstra. Had an Indian accent.

Spun me the same story about my internet being infected and causing problems with the Telstra servers. Gave me a serial number and wanted me to check it on my computer. Told me that if I didn't follow his instructions, my internet connection would be cut-off. When I informed him that Telstra is not my service provider and that he was a just a con man running a scam, he quickly hung up.

Same story. He said he from Telstra and my internet will get cut out tomorrow. He also mentioned it is important to do it today. He asked me to go to a computer then download team viewer. I think it is a scam because they have called me many times.

Definitely a scam! They ask you to give them remote access to your computer from their own so they can hack your computer and get your details. Do not fall for their tricks! The man even got aggressive when challenged about whether he actually worked for Telstra. Little did Victor know that Telstra isn't even my provider anymore. Bunch of lowlives trying to steal from those who don't know any better.

Caller: Called himself Alex Peterson from Telstra (number unknown)

Caller said my internet had issues and that my computer had been accessed by someone from overseas. He wanted me to give him access via Team Viewer which I wouldn't, so he gave me this 03 phone number and his employee number to verify who he is. When I called the number a "Brian Wilson" answered and said Alex is a Telstra Senior Technician. Both people I spoke to had foreign accents. I spoke to our IT provider who said it's a scam as when they have access via Team Viewer they can then load their own software to your computer, providing them with access to your files.

This is a scam. Bad Indian accents in a call room. They even had a name and telstra id number and call back phone number (same as above) to give to me when I asked. The girl then put her male supervisor on the phone after getting mad a me when she wanted to know if I was using a laptop or a desktop wanting me to get on a website (no doubt to get me to agree to remote access - NEVER) to "see the invisible cookies from hackers that are infiltrating your router server" which they had traced to my internet and they were doing me a great service by cutting off my internet tomorrow for 15 days to clean it up. The supervisor also wanted to know exactly how many computers/laptops/ipads/androids I was using in my house and after me telling them it was irrelevant then told me I can ring them back tomorrow where I would be very sorry when I had no internet and to prove they were right blah blah blah.

There's this call that says that my internet have problems and errors and there are hackers trying to hack my wifi and computer. They want me to go on to a website to share screen. The website seems secured because there is a locked lock on the left of the address and it starts off with https://www.... I say that I am not the owner of the computer( this is a Mac, they he gives me this number that I need to let the owner of the computer to call back. It this a faker or a hacker number trying to hack my computer?
