Called me up & said I’d be arrested if I didn’t call back, I called the taxation office and they told me it was a scam, but boy, did I freak out for a second there

These are scammers who claim to be from ATO saying you are about to be taken to court. I called ATO and yes they are scammers. Beware and dont give out personal details.

I don’t know how exactly you got my number but could you please delete my number because I don’t answer any random numbers or get sued

Had a missed call today, checked this website to confirm it was a scam before calling the number. A lady with a heavy Indian accent answered the phone and jabbed something, finishing with “Australian Tax Office”. I replied, “what, are you claiming to be the ATO”, she hung up on me! How rude, LOL.

Missed call from this number which I called back. A guy with a heavy Chinese accent then gave me his name, Badge ID number (741A9651) and told me he was with the ATO. He said that I had committed fraud to the sum of $4,998, but with the additional charges etc the final figure came to nearly $97,000! He then started shouting at me, asking why I would try to hide money from the Government, and accusing me of being a bad person.

I strung him along for a little while and then just unleashed at him, calling him every name under the sun. With any luck the little sh*t will get hit by a bus tomorrow.

SCAMMER -Called claiming a law suite against me and a warrant had been executed for my arrest.

Same as above - threatened arrest warrant on voicemail message, but it is an automated message. t is a scam.

Same as everyone else. Just a scam saying its the ATO and a lawsuit will be filed against me. just hang up and forget about it

Just been called and there was a very pregnant pause which indicates call centre .... If it's a warrant in Australia , then that MUST be hand delivered by the police

Similar to above, but says "There is a lawsuit getting filed under your name. The moment you receive this message I want you to get back on my department division number (03) 9005 8245. Now if we not hear from you we have to issue an arrest warrant and have you arrested. Thank you"
