Caller: "G.E.E Energy" Caller said she was "Nancy", but sounded Indian, difficult to get her business name, but eventually go it as G E E Energy. Asked where she was calling from - admitted International call centre (so WHY do they 'spoof' a Melbourne number??). She passed me on to her Manager, "Kevin Wilson" (can they at least use a different name, Kevin gets around!) Anyway, I was vague and declined any offers - not happy to deal with an overseas company or caller.

Caller: (03) 9005 6099 Answered as it wasn’t a blocked number.....nothing, after saying ‘hello’ once or twice it disconnected. Tried calling it back and message was ‘Optus advises the mobile number is disconnected’. For what it’s worth and future reference.

Caller: Calling from an Electric Company (couldn't understand the name given) Caller was Indian (I am Indian too) & recognized the accent. Requested to speak to the owner of the phone, preferably a responsible person. I explained the owners were not available but if he left his name number & business details I could get the owners to call back. I then asked what was the reason for this call. He replied that he wanted the someone responsible to accept the cost for use of electricity to carry out the work to be done on the property. I said that he must have the wrong number as owners are pensioners & no development was taking place, but developments were being done on several properties up & down the street. But if he gave me all the details I would get them to call back but for the moment I am a relative & living here with my husband. He began to give me the number 039 & then said the company was an electric company & rang off. I retrieved the number from my phone bank. I have since rung the number to find it is not in service. It is a scam call beware!

We also get calls. Once it was a James . Next time it was a Rosy Jones. But sounded very much Indian. What do they waste our time and why can’t Telstra stop these scam calls ?????

Caller: wouldn't give her name - Indian accent Said she was from Vodafone customer care & offered 40% of my next bill. I asked her what bill ? - so I could see if she new what accounts I held. Couldn't tell me so I asked her if she meant my mobile phn bill. I asked her what was my average monthly spend - NO IDEA. Told me they would send me a text message which I needed to reply to so they could in turn apply the discount. Called Voda myself & the number is not listed with them as belonging to their call centre or any other part of Voda.
