I fell for the "win an iphone" scam - bombarded now with spam and telemarketing calls - now if I don't recognise the number I don't answer the phone - strange they never leave a message!!!! I registered with "do not call" but I still get calls.

Same thing - you ask not to be contacted via the online competition.
They just ignore your comments.

It's funny when you tell them the truth they hang up on you and when you call them back to address the problem they realise who you are and hang up again

Hey Smoo, thanks for sharing your experience and the info on the donotcall option. I will follow it. I had exactly the same experience. Filled out some stupid survey to in response to "You have won an Apple i-phone". It was bullsh*t. Just a massively long survey asking if I wanted insurances etc, to which I answered "no" to every question. Then it said "you now have a chance to win an i-phone". So the whole thing was a scamming phishing site. Since then a couple months ago, I was called by the above (03) no. to which I said no to getting funeral insurance. Then I got another sleazy Indian accent from this mobile no. 0469 763 186. This idiot obviously thought I was an idiot like him, and pretended to be from Dominos, asking my name and address, since he supposedly had a pizza for me. Smelling a rat, I said "who wants to bloody know mate?". Then he hung up. He even texted me the last few days asking me to call him since he was from Dominos. I texted back saying "F_ _ _" "OFF". That must have really got to him, coz then he said " I know you from 125 Elizabeth St." and "same to you buddy". What a d*ckhead he is. Trying to scam out of me which city, if any, that I live in. There is an Elizabeth St. in every city in Australia. So please beware fellow Aussies, this idiot is a scammer, and this mobile no. and others he regularly changes to is connected to the above Melbourne sales no. Although these numbers are operated from somewhere in India, and these criminals actually have no idea where we live, they just pretend to, to intimidate us. But you don't scare me mate, I'll take you on in hand to hand combat anytime, just fly to Australia!

Stupidly entered win an iphone7 competetion. Didn't finish the application but still bombarded with a whole range of telemarketers wanting info. They start at 9.10am and I've had calls from (03), (02), (08) and (07) area codes and all I do now is answer the phone and put it down. I don't speak to them, I don't acknowledge them. They are a nuisance

Thanks for the info .. I too filled in an online application for Coles and am also being inundated with these stupid calls. Have received 3 so far today and have blocked the number, but I find that they change the phone number all the time as well!! Extremely annoying and an invasion of privacy. Will go to the donotcall register .. thanks again.

DITTO. DITTO. DITTO. My experience is the same. I will go to the www.site to stop this. So far, I cannot understand the caller until they have launched into the spin & I politely ask to terminate the call. This is not on as I am busy working & this is a distraction of the most annoying type. Shame on Coles.

I am fielding calls 6 or 7 every day since applying for a Coles voucher & again ensuring that I tick NO to any offers. Energy, Insurance, blah,blah,blah........

Ever since I filled in an online competition (I know: stupid me) for a Coles supermarket voucher and despite clicking 'no' to every one of the 'special offers' I have been bombarded with telemarketer calls. Yesterday I received 16! Today in just two hours I have received 7. The bastards started at 9.02: it's illegal for them to call before 9am.

I block every number but after 3 or 4 attempts using that number they simply switch to another one. Annoyingly, my phone's blocking utility doesn't cut them off; rather it sends them straight to my voicemail. Every 3 or 4 hours I have to call my voicemail and delete a dozen or so messages. They don't leave any message: it's either silence or them saying (so far in a very Indian accent), 'hello, hello, hello?" before hanging up.

It's extremely aggravating. I wonder if Coles is aware of what this company is doing: it's certainly giving me an extremely negative opinion of Coles.

Fortunately there is a solution to this I just discovered today: There is a a government register for your phone number:

https://www.donotcall.gov.au

Registration is free and quick. The telemarketers have to check the register before calling and number and if they do call after you've registered, you can lay a complaint against them and they can be fined. The only drawback is that they have up to 30 days from date of registration to comply. So I guess I've got another bloody month of 20 calls a day. bah.
