They said they calling from Melbourne Car Removals about car that needed to be removed. We don't even a car, we want removed and we didn't call them.

I will not answer a number that does not have the courtesy to leave a short message that tells me who was calling!

Call from this number - did not leave a message. Called them back about 20 times and I didnt say anything to them (from a private number of ourse). Like to give them a taste of their own medicine and annoy the crap out of them for once. Petty...maybe, but oh well, I got the time

This bloke hung up on me when I answered so I called the number back and he answered. I asked him why he call me and he told me (like all you others) he was looking for old cars to purchase. I asked him how he got my number, He said his boss gets him to call people, wasn't much of an explanation!! I looked up Melbourne Car Removal and they do exist...... I called them and told them someone was using their company name to scam people. He took my details and said he'd get his boss to call me back.
Let's see what happens..........

It’s a scam. They offer you a ‘car removal’ service.
I saw all these comments when I missed the call, so decided to call back and see what the scam was.
They say they’ll pick up the car for $1,500 (which you pay) if you provide all your details.
So they’re either a) taking personal details/information; or b) they’re scamming you out of $1,500; or c) both.
Just a heads up. I’d hate for them to get in contact with someone who actually needed a car removed and they got scammed.
They also say Melbourne as an American (MELBORN) not an Australian.

Called asking if I had a car I needed removing. I told them I was not interested and hung up. Don't know how they got my number, but suspect it was from months ago when I was looking up the value of my mother's car.

Same. Also hung up after I picked up. Caller has now been blocked!!!

0411 308 262 - is their other number - super dodgey!

Recognised the number so didn't answer: Happens all the time...long time ago a note was left on my car by an interested party...called them they said they were out of the country and not interested...v.suspicious "casing my place" perhaps or recording my number wont fall for it again....😠

They are paying cash for old and scrap cars, unfortunately I don't have any.

Calls many times, said your car is ready to be collected.

Same caller - said his name was Sam - offered me $700 for my car and asked if it was running etc. Hopefully it won’t get stolen.

Have looked on reddit - some scams like this will use cars for crimes etc.

Have reported it to local police and crime stoppers - also called the car removal company he mentioned.

The guys is very rude! Claimed he is calling from melbourne car removal and said I have an old car to sell and they will give cash.
The truth I don’t even have a car..lol

They are still at it! They said they calling from Melbourne Car Removals. I suspect it was because I had a car for sale on another website.
When are the telco's going to shut this stuff down?
Total Scammers, no record of them anywhere. Ignore and report them as scammers

Hung up as soon as i answered. Within a miniute then received a 2nd call from a different number saying i had spoken to someone from their company regarding financial advice / services. Might be a coincidane but doubt it.
