This number is from the ATO they have called me a couple of times

tax scam call

Had a call from the tax dept and if I didn't call back it was at my peril, hope he doesn't hold his breath awaiting my return call. Thank you everyone for point this one out.

Caller(American accent) claimed to be the ATO..I hung up immediately.

Sounded like a recorded message with an America guy saying he needed my Tax file number and if I didn't respond it would be my problem?? Scam for sure

I had the same message left on my phone , ide love to get my hands on these bastards , instead of telling them your tfn you could punch it into them 😀 Wouldn't that be nice 👍

Another Tax Scammer...

Indian bloke saying he's from "The Department" - requesting an immediate return call. BS

got a call from this number telling me to call another number (which was said very fast nd didn't give me any time to write it down) & if i didn't call them that it was at my own risk & to beware!!!!

Called the number back. Fellow with an indian accent answered my call saying 'tax dept'. I said I was returning his call. He said who is this I told him my surname and he suggested my first name. I replied 'yes' and he hung up. I called back and the number rang out. Luckily the name I gave him isn't my real name.

Someone saying there was an issue with my tax and it fell on me if I didn't call back. No doubt a scam.
