Called us last night claiming we'd been chosen for a discount to our phone service. As my husband does tech support at Telstra I put him on the phone. As soon as he said he works for Telstra, they guy said "ok thank you, bye" and hung up. Obviously a scam.

Like the hundreds of others here, I am absolutely sick to death of these idiots. I also get calls from the various numbers connected to this one like others do, and they are using variations of those numbers to currently call 6-7 times a day.
I know that for the general annoying telemarketer ones that despite how damn annoying they are, it's not the nicest thing to do use a whistle as it can do some pretty nasty damage. But I put this lot in the "I'm with Telstra/Bigpond/Windows/Microsoft and your connection will be disconnected if you don't do xyz" basket as they aren't telemarketers, they are scammers.
So if you haven't been able to block them then go through all the numbers posted and save them in your phone with the title "scammer", so each time they ring, you'll know it's them and hell yes, whistle totally justified here. The more that do it then the less of them that can call as their ears will be ringing for a good week or so.
I hate telemarketers and just hang up but know they are stuck doing a totally sh*tty job with a ton of abuse so don't deserve that. But scammers like this? Heck yes, they often get abusive (some will claim to know where you live and have no issue threatening kids who answer) so I highly recommend a decent whistle or even better, an air horn.
The second one has meant I have had 3 blissful months of not hearing daily that my internet connection is about to be cut off....I need to go and get a new one just for this lot :)

I don't know who they are but they called twice in half an hour. So I called the number back and of course they didn't answer. So I left a message saying, "I don't know who you are and I don't care. I'm not interested in whatever you're offering. Take my number off your damn call list." and hung up!! Haven't had a call but when I do I'll keep doing it back. Let's see who gets tired first!!

It disgusts me how misleading they are, using clever wording to get around questions like "are you with telstra" (responses like: yes, telstra will still be your principal line) and calling it an "upgrade" rather than new phone connection... scares me to think how many people they manipulate this way. Not to mention the constant harrassing (4 times in 10 minutes through dinner). These people have no conscience. Recommend calling 1800 805 996 to have telstra block it for you as the government "do not call register" takes 30 days to work.

When these clowns call it sounds like a boiler room operation. Poor engrish. The spell is that they are calling about my landline that the lines have been upgraded and ... I just cut them off. For one thing Telstra does not simply upgrade lines in an area. It is an illegal churn scam or worse.

I just received 2 calls from this number...same thing...told me that I had ASKED for them to contact me at my business to take over my phone lines and internet for a flat monthly fee for unlimited calls and unlimited internet access for $99. I asked him not to call back and then he phoned back again 10 mins later. I didn't answer.

These people do nothing but prey on the vulnerable. IT SICKENS ME THAT THESE PEOPLE PREY ON THE VULNERABLE IN OUR SOCIETY. They will just lie and lie and lie and tell you they are from YOUR telephone service provider AND that they have a special deal for you-WHEN IN FACT THEY ARE NOTHING SHORT OF THEIVES. there was a leaked video about the call centres in india and pakistan and what they tell them in training about AUSTRALIANS-they are told in training that AUSTRALIANS ARE STUPID AND VERY EASY TO UPSELL TO-in other words scam the aussies as much as you can because they are stupid. ITS CALLED EASY GOING AND TRUSTING YOU f*ckING MAGGOTS. we are not a suspicious society who is used to your filthy scamming ways, people who prey on our elderly like you should be SHOT

I just answered a call from an associated number: (07) 5667 5099 on a rarely used phone and they disconnected when I answered with a male name, owner of phone. Thank you for listing all the associated numbers which I have now blocked.

Telstra can only help if your phone account is with them. They are calling a business line here not with Telstra so theres nothing we can do but keep taking the calls. They don't even talk but hang up at least 7 times a day.

This caller said they represented Origin Energy, calling about an unpaid bill wanting payment by credit card over phone, and said when questioned, that the bill had been mailed to new address which had not been provided as we moved from previous address and were not continuing with that company. We were not unhappy with Origin, just wanted a change. When we don't answer numerous NO ID CALLS, this is the number that then calls. I have blocked it twice. So how do they get the information.

Just want to thank everyone for taking the time to write your experiences with these calls because it has cut out any stress I was about to have about this. Thanks for making it easier for the rest of us they begin to harass. Makes it quicker for me to put things in place to stop it. Cheers!
