This number is an incoming call number for a company called Telebyte. They claim to be offering discounts for Telstra but they are actually not part of Telstra. They call my partner's phone multiple times per day, sometimes 10 times per day, doesn't leave messages, told them to stop calling but they won't, I called to complain and they hung up on me.

Indians new to Australia and bringing there sh*tty way of business and attitude to life here. Block the call.

I save these numbers on the ph as "new contact" under name of Scum. Then ignore futurecalls.

The number (03) 8644 2976 with every other phone number that starts with 038644xxxx are from the same company. Like what everyone here described, they are able to access customer details, primarily their phone numbers to illegally promote their products. My guess is everyone here may have left your details with Telstra or their associated telemarketing company. Doctors Without Borders and online survey companies might be using the same telemarketing company as well.

I no longer answer any number that isn't in my address book. I then block each number as they call... The calls go straight to message bank.
I know that Telstra will put a trace on your line, if requested, in order to track nuisance callers. ie.. if you answer and they don't speak. The action taken against them is determined by the amount of calls to your number.

If there isnt a name displayed on my phone when it rings it dont get answered. Same with the picks that hide behind private numbers.

I got a call from this number, long pause so I hung up.
Get weekly calls from similar numbers starting with (02) 83xx, 86xx on a weekly basis.
I now block each number as they call. Now have 21 blocked numbers

Very rude guy, claiming to give me information about national broadband. Very thick Indian accent. Very patronising; when I told him I wasn't interested in anything he had to offer he hang up on me. They are pests, block the number.
