I had one of these missed calls today. no msg left. I see from other posts that these are related to Origin energy. I Recently left Origin so maybe they were just trying to sweeten the deal to get me to return. I couldn't call them back either. I didn't know the number so I didn't answer. Googled it and here I am! Thanks for letting me know it was Origin.
Same for me I changed to AGL couple of weeks ago and this might be the reply call to change my mind.
The problem I see is that any provider should honour long time members and not taking away discounts and customers wouldn't change providers. This would mean that they don't need a 'different department' to call you, which would save them money in the beginning with. But what do I know, I don't have a business degree!
I don't bother answering anymore.

I made the switch for electricity supply from ORIGIN to ALINTA.
Recently cancelled Origin to sign with Actew, had no problems with Origin, just offered a cheaper guaranteed rate. Now they're calling sometimes 4-5 times a day trying to win me back, so now I have a problem with them. The more they call, the less chance they have.

THEY NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE - Always call when we are out at work. Then they cut us off the Power On Programme saying we never paid the account - IDIOTS - our account was paid by direct debit so it was always paid! Changing to AGL - MUCH cheaper. Now they (ORIGIN) ring again as we are off to the doctors - and don't leave a message - with all the pain in the neck callers these days we just don't answer any number that we don't know.... and they will never leave a message. Over this S@*t!!!! Good bye and good riddance i say!
Worth answering! It was origin trying to get me back after I switched to AGL. She gave me a 25% discount & said they would take care of any fees/bills that come from AGL. worth answering I say.
I missed the call but I didn’t recognise the number and thought I’d check here first to see who I would be dealing with. I recently switched my power from Origin so they must want to contact me to try and keep me as a customer.
Rang but never left message....going on the other comments it would should plausible that it's origin energy as I have changed gas providers from origin to elsewhere I contacted Origin before I switched providers asking them to give me the best deal - no reply. As soon as I switch they want to ring and offer me better. Sorry Origin - not happening. Respect your customers and they will stay. Not going back now Powershop heaps cheaper and monthly accounts. Woo hoo By the looks of these comments, I'm kind of glad I missed a call from this number. Its not that I'm avoiding Origin, and my account is paid, but I have made the decision to move to another provider and am not interested in being bullied into staying. Maybe they should give existing customers the best rates available and then they won't leave? Caller: Origin
Lily and Joey are quite correct and should leave their respective comments in place, loud and proud! Origin keep calling from this number during my working day to pester me into paying a bill I don't owe for a service I have elected to leave because of their inability to organise a meter read and issue a correct bill. this number is used by Origin call centre staff who don't care that you've answered 50 calls the same prior, they work on the drip drip of water torture principal.
I have resorted to answering the phone and leaving it out of ear shot and seeing how long they stay on the line.

More than likely Origin. I have not been with them nor have I done an I select or compare the market. Just a cold call to get me to switch. If it had been something important then a message would have been left or my actual provider would call me. Caller: Origin from the comments above
They did the wrong thing by me and dropped my discount when I couldn't contact the retention number they had given. This is their team trying to get me to switch back again but I have gone to Simply!!!!

I WOULD URGE ANYONE WHO WANTS TO CHANGE TO ORIGIN ENERGY TO NEVER EVER DO SO REGARDLESS TO WHAT OFFER THEY HAVE. I HAD 2 COMPLAINTS TO THE ENERGY OMBUDSMAN BECAUSE OF THEIR NEGLIGENT BEHAVIOUR AND OF COURSE I WON THEM BOTH. I WILL NEVER EVER BE A CUSTOMER AGAIN.
