A woman spoke when I answered - she was looking for someone. I told her that it was a wrong number. I suspected something so I phoned back four times and each time the connection was disconnected. This must be some sort of a scam, checking my phone number.

Caller: (03) 8560 4211 A lady called me, i presume she's asian same as i am and i recognise the accent. Say she's from Roy Morgan doing research. She asks question about whether you work, what industry are you in, what type of work are you doing, do you own the company. When she asks "what AGE bracket I am in", i told her that i'm not comfortable about question and she just immediately say thank you and hang up without me even saying a word. This is the third time she ring me, the 1st and 2nd i was busy and told her to ring me back. 3rd time i entertained her and this is what i got. You cannot call back the number, i suppose this is a total scam and need to report to police to stop this nonsense.

Caller: Scammer They told me they were Roy Morgan. Roy Morgan told me it was not them. Roy Morgan said that there is nothing that the telephone companies can do.
The government can make it illegal to impersonate a survey company such as Roy Morgan to get personal info. The government can make it illegal to use false telephone numbers that when rung back are illegal. The scammers should be penalised as they are trying to get personal info, which can lead to potential criminal activity - theft.
