I had two missed calls from this number , when I ring back the phone rings out.Possible scam

I received a call from this number today. The male voice sounded Indian and he told me he wasn't selling anything and asked me not to hang up as he was checking to see if I would qualify for Government assistance. He asked me a series of questions such as what industry I was employed in, age range and children. I gave silly answers such as rocket science, 96 years old with 18 children so he hung up. I believe this is a scam to try to obtain personal information. Don't fall for it!

These cocksuckers have been calling my phone on and off for close to 4 years now. Even when you ask the to stop calling or just abuse them they keep calling. Can't ring back now as the number comes up as unlisted. Def scam but not sure what they achieve by constantly calling and being abused.

There was a strange males voice that did not seem to be English. We called back and they answered but did not respond. We were not sure if they are a scam or just checking if there was someone home.

Called this evening, I didn't answer but it went to voicemail which recorded a background of 'Indian' sounding male voices but seemingly unaware that they were being recorded. I have blocked the number, this same scenario has been happening with another Melbourne number and that one asked for my ex-husband by name and knew what industry he worked in, haven't been together for years, so goodness knows where their data is coming from....anyway, no harm done.

they called last week on my way home from work, answered as you do. some asian sounding guy said i am conducting a survey and wanted to know what type of industry i work at i said please do not call me. hung up. called again tonight just now at 6.15pm asking what post code i live in and i said please take me off the list do not call again and he said we dont care we will keep calling, he also kept saying please dont hang up i am not trying to sell anything to you... lol blocked there number. dont know what sort of company lets their employees say they will keep calling back if i dont give them the information

Called me several times yesterday when I couldn't take the call. I called back and got a "please check the number before calling again" message. I've blocked them. Hate scammers.

Telemarketers working for local business trying to keep their database up to date. Just block their number, problem is they sometimes use a private number!

These guys r calling me may be once in a month.... bloody shameless basteds.... definitely a scam but can’t understand what r they looking for????

About 20 calls over the last couple of months. Says he's from the ABS and I asked for proof, he couldn't give any. Indian accent. I told him I am therefore looking up the ABS to cross check their numbers as well as scam sites. Started reading him out some comments from here. He quickly hung up. If it was genuinely the government they would use a contractor and state the name of the company and give you plenty of info to verify. This guy had none of that. And how did he know my and my husband's name? All Census data is anonymous. He was using data from telemarketing I got conned into a few years ago.

Claim to be from ABS. They have been calling me for years from an old fake survey I got tricked into taking years ago. scammers. just hang up on them.

keep ringing I am on the do not call register - was of time being on that.

They rang up, definitely Indian accents, I thought they had spoken to someone in the family as they had certain information, they actually sent someone to my place (non Indian) as my wife was called on short notice to work and she couldn't be home they said they couldn't show me what they were about. I told the person attending in advance I am very skeptical in what they are which from what I understood was some sort of means to pay off mortages and retire early. Person attending left quickly, he did not identify what company he was representing. Next day I got another call, I did not answer. Regret not taking car rego number to refer to police. Stinks of scam. How does one block a number?
