it was NBN CO. Confirming a book in date to have my nbn connected.

Calling to ask too many security questions, I already accepted the appointment via reply text, why would they call me from India when they have attended my property 4 times already

I called back number (03) 8364 9000 rang once then gets disconnected automatically.

So received this message via txt today

This is Service Stream Limited on behalf of NBN. We will be calling today with important information regarding your NBN Installation. Our caller ID is: (03) 8364 9000 (this number does not accept calls). We look forward to speaking with you today. NO REPLY.

I rang Optus and apparently it is not part of them so must be a scam.

Caller: a sms message from 61 447 045 254

in the sms message it says " This is Service Stream Limited on behalf of NBN. We will be calling today with important information regarding your NBN installation. Our Caller ID is : (03) 8364 9000 ( this number does not accept calls). we look forward to speaking with you today.No REPLY."
My NBN was installed 2 weeks ago.

Caller: NBN Scam - pretending to be Service Stream

It's a NBN appointment booking scam. They somehow know you're on Optus too.

Caller: some female with a heavy Indian accent.

Asking too many wrong questions when i said please be slow its hard to understand what you are saying just hang up.

Claimed to be calling on behalf of NBN. Wanted me to provide my identity information. When I refused, explaining they called me so should know who I am, they told me they could Co to use the call. When I later the called the number, it was disconnected.

I called the number almost immediately and was advised "Optus advises this number is disconnected"

Tried calling back but says number is disconnected.
