Just tell lies. I like telling call centres, I'm in the building with you, or, I have warp power if it's electricity sales, or I'm already dead for life insurance. Or I work for that company or a competitor. Or I don't understand your language. Or put a kid on. Or tell them an alien has its fingers in my arse.

How do we know that the ACMA "Do not call register" is sometimes not the source of those pests getting our numbers in the first place. I mean, if the ACMA register was hacked, do you think they would tell you?
Lucky for me I have a call screening facility on my mobile. I just set the recording to leave a message and they have to respond. I have unlimited nationwide call credit so calling back is not a problem for me. However, if they do not even bother to leave a message then I cannot help them...I would leave info as to what service provider has the good deals I currently enjoy however, it would probably be unethical and against this boards policy as it may be misconstrued as advertising. Sorry Folks....

A "missed call" was in our call log. Thanks for the respondents who identified the number as belonging to EY Sweeney Market Research. Our numbers are on the Do Not Call Register, however they are still allowed to call. I have written to them to the effect that we do not participate in market research surveys, hence please ensure that they do not call our numbers. Caller: E Y sweeney 5th day in a row calling after hours from “Transport NSW”. Picked up the phone today and after 2 minutes the guy admitted he is working for a survey company on behalf of Transport NSW. I asked him if he has got my consent to call me for surveys after hours and he said he doesn’t need my consent for that. Then I asked for his full name and told him that I’m recording the call due to too many scam calls, especially after the Optus and Medibank data leak. He refused to identify himself(not even his first name that he initially gave me” and asked me to google “EY Sweeney”. I told him to google “Pope of Rome” and he will find a photo of me. He hung up when I asked for his mom’s, sister’s and daughter’s phone numbers as I wanted to conduct an after hours survey without their consent.

Received a call from this number claiming to be a survey from NSW Transport. They did ask some questions that seems personal such as my income and work address etc. But since I received a letter previously I didn't think too much since she was able to read out my address and they got my phone number not likely they got most of my details already.
