I rang back the number (03) 6128 3069 once but got disconnected

Market Research in regard to Solar rebate.

Called back and a recorded voice stated that this number is no longer in service

Received a call from this number. States from Hobart, Tasmania. Hung up when answered.

This number called around 3:30pm on a Saturday. I answered with the name of my business (computer related) and heard about two seconds of background noise like a call centre. Then it hung up.

(03) 6 is a Tasmanian number, but usually it's (03) 62 (Hobart and southern region) or (03) 63 (Launceston and northern region). (03) 61 looks like it might be a bit like the Canberra numbers, (02) 61, which are government or non-standard phone numbers like VOIP. At a guess: it's a fake number designed to look like something official.

Called the number back and it was a market research firm with an answering machine, left a message to stop calling me, blocked/reported the number.

Located in Hobart, Tasmania apparently. I rang back and was almost immediately answered by a recorded message saying it was from the MRC.

They hung up as soon as I answered
