Fake phone number calling to say there is a warrant out for your arrest and to call back. Not sure what the consequences are but suggest you DO NOT call back.

Called to say a warrant had been issued for my arrrest in regards with serious tax fraud and evasion and myself or my lawyer had to call them back and not to disregard the call....scam

Claim to be from the ATO, and that I have unpaid taxes. I am not to ignore the call, as a Warrant has been issued for my arrest

Male voice left message on answer machine, (my impression is it is pre recorded), advising there is an arrest warrant issued and for either myself or lawyer to call the number given

I reported to ATO. Staff confirmed it was a scam.

Received message on answering machine saying that need to call this number bla bla threat don't ignore etc

I called (03) 5902 7999 after a missed call.

I advised I had missed a call. He said "what is your name" and I said, can I just have a little more information about where I've called before I give you that information? Where is your branch located?' He hung up on me.

I called back and said " I'm pretty sure the tax office wouldn't hang up on me"
He said, "I'm pretty sure they would if you won't even give them your name and you asked for their address"

I responded with "I'm pretty sure they wouldn't if they knew I was making sure this call wasn't a scam, and given that this phone number comes up as a scam when googled..."

He said "If you know it's a scam, then why do you keep calling me?"

I said " Because I think you're an a**hole that should stop scamming people and get a real job"

Hope no one else get's caught.

Got a call from same number, ato scammer

Just received call also message saying there is a warrant for my arrest and to call my lawyers or the (03) 5902 7999 back immediately. Do not disregard this message.

I received the same phone call today, and returned phone call, but was put on hold. Any advice? Thanks

I got a message from the same number about an hour ago. The guy sounded Indian and was claiming I had some issue with avoiding taxes and was wanted for arrest. If everyone else is reporting similar behaviour than this sounds pretty sketchy...

said from ato but there just scammers

Caller informing me that I MUST do what was required and call back. Finished with a warning that I must not disregard the message.

Male recorded voice threatening legal action about something. Was an Aussie teenaged voice trying to put on a foreign accent. Scam ! Originated from Cranbourne, Victoria. Australia.
