Electricity spam \ survey

Claimed to be from a company called Benefit Deals and offering discounts on electricity and gas. Purport to have a head office working out of 3 Bowen Crescent, South Melbourne.

Had my first and last name and postcode from my previous address (a year old). Said they had this information because I filled in a survey or entered a competition online somewhere (I never do). Needed to know my current address in order to tell me their allegedly cheaper energy rates. I declined, and got transferred to the 'supervisor', presumably when the caller decided I was going to be a 'difficult' target. Then got asked for my 'NMI' (?? a number on my power bill??). When I suggested that I could call them back at a time more convenient for me, they tried to turn it around and asked for a time to call me back.

Same - someone from 'benefit deals'.

Does not seem to be a genuine call.

Also got a call from 'Benefit Deal' offering me 'better rates on my electricity' but when i typed in the website he suggested "benefitdeal.com.au" it didn't exist and couldn't find it on google.

Caller from Geelong - from Benefit Deal. I answered the call and no one spoke, said "hello" a couple of times and left it but didn't hang up then 10 seconds later, they hung up on me! I rang the number back and it was Benefit Deal - guessing a marketing call

I returned a call from (03) 5242 5987 but reached vm for Benefit Deal
