claiming to be tax office , but then i called the real tax office and said my record was clean

I got the same call and reported it to the ATO. They take it seriously and will investigate. Don't call the scammer back just report it to the ATO on 1800 008 540.

Called me numerous times. Said I needed legal representation . Tax issue .

got a call from this number ,was an automated message ...sounded like a dodgy call...please dont call back this number

Caller left a voice message from (02) 6064 2098 He sounded Indian and said he was from 'Taxation' about fraud or tax evasion and to get my agent to call back immediately on (03) 4309 4118

Left message saying they were tax office - fraud section. Called back and got a message that number was not in service - SCAM

A scam claiming that I had to contact for tax evasion and fraud. A male had left a voicemail message.

They now have an automated message saying they are calling about a law suit for tax evasion, and to call them back on this number.

called saying I would need a lawyer re tax freud sounded middle eastern, sounded like an automated message on the other end finished then hung up.

The idiot with a terrible accent left two consecutive identical messages on my answering service.

A message left on my answering machine to return call urgently. Couldn't understand where he said he was from. I always look at this site before returning a call to a number I don't know. The above comments are helpful because I can then go and block the number.

I have just had a call from this number and there were of foreign accent and even quoted a case file number. Saying they were from the ATO and that I was a tax evader and Freud! They went through a few violations I have made from 2010 to 2016. Very disturbing as I do my tax every year without fail and usually do not get a lot back so don't know how I can owe so much when I am a single parent with a low income. Told them I would ring ATO myself to discuss further directly with them.
