This mob, who give the name Epilepsy Action Australia, call me every second day! I foolishly answered them once, and they had the nerve to say I had previously agreed to help them by buying their tickets, which I had not. I have told them on more than one occasion I am not in a position to help them and stop calling, but they persist. As they are not the official Epilespy organisation I believe they are just scammers, lining their own pockets under the pretence of being a charity

To all those people who have been harassed by frequent calls from (02) 9814 7425, these calls DO NOT originate from Epilepsy Australia.

Epilepsy Australia (www.epilepsyaustralia.net) is the national coalition of Australian epilepsy associations.

Epilepsy Australia does not make random calls seeking donation NOR DO WE EVER SELL RAFFLE TICKETS.

The company responsible is EPILEPSY ASSOCIATION trading as EPILEPSY ACTION AUSTRALIA, based in Epping NSW (www.epilepsy.org.au). May I suggest you contact the CEO Carol Ireland direct at cireland @ epilepsy.org.au and demand that your number to be removed from their list.

If you continue to receive calls, complaints about the way this company does business should be made to the NSW Trade & Investment, Office of Liquor, Gaming a & Racing which also deals with charitable fundraising. You can make a complaint by emailing charity.inquiries @ olgr.nsw.gov.au

This company is NOT affiliated with Epilepsy Australia in any way. There is nothing we can do to stop this company making these calls, and have certainly made our position clear to them that their actions are directly damaging the epilepsy cause and directly affecting support for people living with epilepsy.

Epilepsy Australia has a good name in charitable fundraising and for the work we do, we too are frustrated by the confusion created by this company with a name so close to ours, they are not only damaging our reputation but their method of operation reflects badly on our ethical fundraising methods.
