I hear your pain friend, but please don't be ashamed to be Australian. Sure, morons like Telstra give Australian business a bad name, but we are more than Australian business, much more.

Telstra are the worse company I hanged up on them because the girl sat there in silence and said nothing on 1258887 she rang me back on the 02 number and sat there humming on the other end of the phone......

I am using my daughters old phone and keep getting the message symbol, but there isn't one, what's weirder is that it's from a missed call back in May of this year and even when I clear it it just reappears.

I've had occasion to deal with Telstra on about 6 or 7 occasions over 5 years - simple transaction requests such as moving house and arranging account transfers. I can honestly say I have never ever dealt with a company who has risen to the incompetence levels of Telstra. If I had a choice I would have nothing to do with them. They can't, for some reason leave a msg on your voice mail, but they expect you to receive calls from robot computers and then you wait for 15 mins each time to speak to a REAL person. I no longer believe real persons work at Telstra. I used to think the Bulgarian Post Office was bad, but Telstra gets my Gold star every time for incompetence! They wouldn't know customer service if they trippsed over it.

Received a telephone message from this number that went for about 2 minutes - pockets of indian being spoken then silence to fill the gaps......special. Thankyou for explaining this number - will block calls to ensure i'm not woken at 1am :)

Telstra the worst phone company in the world!! Their website is so useless almost always broken you can't even topup your mobile, such a basic thing and there is no phone contact on their website. Then you get these stupid repeated phone calls in the middle of the night from Telstra (02) 9478 2200 number to harass you. Service is so poor!! They are criminal!! Not sure how they survive.

This is a Telstra service number, not a scam caller.

It will appear as the incoming number from any number of extensions within a call centre.

This would include telemarketing, service enquiry response, and check-up calls if you've recently registered a new device.

I got a call from this number after a dispute with them. If this is a wannabe revenge....hahahaha, the joke is on u Telstra telephone wankers, because guess what u r a telephone operator and will be for a long time earning minimum wage!! Hahahaha
