I asked them how did they get my unlisted number and they just said they call numbers at random. I was asked for personal details to which I replied "How about we swap info." They hung up.

NSW Ministry of Health they claim. To me, they are telemarkers by deceit. Just rung em back over and over and over and over again and keep hanging up in their ear. It is fun.

Well, this must be SOME survey from what is supposed to be the NSW Ministry of Health as complaints on this website date from June 2012. Sounds fishy to me. I would not give then the time of day.

Does not matter if they are legit or not. What matters is that they do not call you once or twice but EVERY SINGLE DAY and asked again and again to take my number off whatever list it is on and STOP CALLING ME! If that!!

Just wondering how many years this 'survey' is going to keep going. The outsourcing cost per call to the overseas call centre (routing calls through a NSW switchboard phone number) must be costing tax payers a fortune. Why set this survey up unless there is a huge kickback to a slush fund.

(02) 9424 5700 they call and then I get a private number calling me. Well if I am not going to pick up a number that is hidden and I am even more suspicious if it calls 10 seconds after this telemarketer. So just because they know how to backspace and prefix with 1831....

Got a call while driving, so fumbled around to hang it up without taking phone out of my belt pouch. Looked up the number later and found this list of complaints. Seems to be an excessively long survey to do on the phone. This would cost taxpayers heaps and paying overseas call centre workers. They should post the weblink in a google advert and give a prize, it would be cheaper to do this by surveymonkey or similar. I don't see why our taxpayer dollars are being used to pay an overseas call centre that is routing through a local phone number. The survey questions are like these in this link. http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/surveys/adult/Pages/default.aspx

They would call every few days and hang up after a few seconds even when I answered. Sometimes you wouldn't hear anything after picking up the phone.
This is a NSW Government Number and is clearly listed on their website - http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/surveys/pages/default.aspx. When I called it back a man answered and identified himself as being from the NSW Health. He took my number, apologised, and said they would remove me from their lists. I don't even live in that state.

Time wasting - one would assume people had better things to do than call people & waste precious time. Definitely a number to ignore & not both answering

I have received two calls in last two days, I answer and just say "Hello", they then hang up. No idea what they want.

I can say for a fact this number is legitimately NSW Ministry of Health. They are trying to conduct a survey to improve the provision of health care services. If you're not interested just say so. They wont ask for your credit card details or sell you anything. They will ask for first name for convesation purposes and your postcode to improve the services in your area. Dont work here anymore but always sick of these f*ggots on the page who are so up themselves over phonecalls.

After 3 inconvenient calls from this number I checked this site and then called direct to NSW Ministry of Health. Yes, it is NSW Ministry of Health and yes they are conducting a survey. The person I spoke with was very nice and apologetic. However, I agree that the people who are doing making the calls for the survey sound suspicious. Personally I don't want to spend 30 minutes speaking to a stranger about my life.

Just woke my sleeping baby - in Victoria. Not very professional for a government department, just calling people willy nilly in any state. Next time they call I'll answer and say as much. If they call after that I'll consider it stalking and try to take an intervention order out on them.

It's a NSW Health survey of health, welbeing, crime etc, I did it and it was kind of good to give them relevant anonymous information and opinions. It took 30 mins to complete and they didn't try to sell me anything at the end.

To my amazement it is part of the Health Department which conducts surveys. See the the government website. http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/surveys/Pages/default.aspx. The number is listed on their website.
Profuse apologies to terry.o who posted it was legit down below.
The odd thing about them is they sound and behave like they are not legitimate.
