It sounds like a scam. I went to Sydney uni but have a different number now so syd uni wouldn't have it. There is no way they would have it as have not filled in forms .... Weird

They are phone-stalking me, too. Why do universities not work out this is a terribly ineffective way of fundraising?

Also Usyd alumni. I doubt if the Uni has anything to do with it. Someone has probably got into a uni database or mailing list. The number has been calling repeatedly in the evening.

had another call from them but this time i got to speak to some one plus a supervisor from their "call center".. yes its Sydney Uni and basically they have access to anyone who puts their phone number on any forms.. not just alumni... my cat was a patient at the uni vet, they wanted to know if i could donate to a disadvantaged animal service they were starting/running.. they do subscribe to the "Do Not Call" listing but i think because of poor office keeping of records they end up back tracking and making multiple calls and also not checking numbers off against registers... also its students and not experienced paid call center staff so background noise and speaking clearly is a problem... 8)

this number has also been ringing me occassionaly, missed several and picked up one... same story crowded and noisy background, called back and got a voicemail message...

Same story. A few missed calls (with no message) then when I answered one the caller said he was from Syd Uni and was calling to update its data base and then read me out my mail & email address fro me to verify. I will be complaining to the university.

They're calling me all the time. My daughter goes to USYD. Trying to figure out how to block calls.

Yes, it is Sydney Uni - exploiting their current students by getting them to call alumni & pretend to be interested in your memories of uni, ask what you're up to now etc, & then they try to cadge money from you... Pretty poor effort.

Our cat died 3 months after paying USyd $6,000 to keep him alive after he was hit by a truck. Died if different causes. Even so poor taste if seeking donations!

This number called me on 4 occasions tonight including about 9:30 pm

They've called my mobile four times in the past month but I've never answered (general rule if I don't recognise the number)and they don't leave a message.
