Definitely alumni, not actually a scam, although depends on your interpretation of that word.
Each time I get an alumni call, I have to go through three separate offers of donations. I believe they're not allowed to hang up until they've asked for me to: 1. Commit to around 20 bucks a week donation, 2. Donate a single, large amount, like a few hundred bucks, and lastly: 3. Commit to a 'tiny' 5 bucks a month
Only after I say no to each one will they let me go.
You'd think with all the extra income they get from SCOTS college students paying their way in, and international students being let off plagiarism charges because they pay full-fee, that they wouldn't need to badger me for 5 bucks a month, but there ya go!

Called me several times. I haven't answered and have checked forum to see who they were. My pet was a patient at the Uni recently.

Ex USYD student. Just got my 10 call in the five years since I graduated. Apparently when I told them last year to delete my number it was missed. Apparently 15 "no"s is not enough. Will continue to answer, say no and hang up.

I am a USYD Alumni & have also been receiving these annoying calls to my mobile (even though it is on the Do Not Call Register) for some time. We called Sydney Uni today - spoke to someone in the "Division of Alumni & Development" who said he would remove my number from their call list. Suggest that anyone else receiving these calls does the same - they might then get the message that it is a really bad look for the Uni.

These people rang me tonight... didn't leave a message... Interesting to know it's Sydney Uni looking for donations... I never even attended Sydney Uni!

I got a call from this number at 7pm on my mobile but no voicemail message was left. If this is Sydney Uni asking for donations, the only way they could have got my number is from the vet clinic. This is annoying and disgusts me as my cat was put down at the clinic last September after spending more than $4k on tests and treatment for cancer. It sickens me that they now have passed on my number to get donations from me. Very unprofessional!!!

I was half way slipping one out when I got up to answer the phone. Fortunately the answering machine got it first. Mysteriously no message was left. I now know what I would have liked to donate to them..

I don't mind getting called. I received a letter in the mail saying they would call and if I didn't want them to I could opt out, but doing nothing meant I was fair game for the call. I guess if you change your mailing address the system breaks down.

Total spam, and so ridiculously persistent when I say no, no, no, I'm not giving you money, no....X10000 this still keep talking. There are better places to donate my money, and even if i was wealthy I still wouldn't donate this way.

The absolute worst. I've refused to answer because they've done this before. But a new low was calling at 4:22 AM. Unbelievable. I'm also usyd alumni and am incredibly disappointed.

Called late at night & kept pushing for donations even after 2 "no thanks". Just graduated with debt to pay off. Get real.

I'm thinking of complaining to USYD, the callers from this number use different explanations with different people for requesting donations so it seems more like a scam.

Already stated many times was not in a financial position to donate $100 and they're still calling. Always after business hours and once at 8:30pm. Not OK!!
