Called here today, 1.30pm on a Sunday mind you, totally unwanted, will not answer unsolicited calls - pls leave a person in peace.

Yes, morons etc etc is quite an accurate summary of this type of call.............

People on here that defend these types of callers need to wake up to themselves !

It's a research company who are legally allowed to call. They use random digit dialling where they know the rough location based on the area code and first 4 digits and randomise the last 4 digits. If you do not want them to call you, tell them! They have to put you on THEIR 'do not call' register - this will however not stop other survey company for contacting you.

Yep...getting unwanted calls from this number on my UNLISTED a phone number! Why aren't these people forced to comply with the do not call register? They are unwanted nuisance calls, and they don't even have the courtesy to leave a message. Clearly they are using random diallers to achieve nothing.

Keep getting calls from this number but am not answering after reading all the comments below.
Here is a tip for iphone users out there....after missing a call from this number go into your recent calls list, click on the info button to the right of the phone number. This brings up info about the missed call if u scroll down to almost the bottom of the screen you have the option of blocking this number so u wont get calls from it again!

They called today, it's just Neillsen TV research, looking for prospects for the next ratings survey. They have to find people from diverse demographics for the survey people to contact.

I think the fact we receive unwanted calls is more the point rather than where they fit, morons is a bit harsh from such an en-lighted person as your good self

I answered once and they hung up. They've been calling everyday for a week at any time. Even when I'm at school.

Seriously are you all a bunch of morons? Market Research doesn't fit under Do Not Call Register. Read up on it to understand it rather than ranting on here like its going to change anything

It is bogus number. The said research company has no knowledge of this number but acknowledged that name is falsely associated

Got several calls from this number. Said she it was TV research. I said that I checked the number on the internet ( this site) and told her it was a scam she continued and said the company was Mildred Brown or something like that - I said I couldn't help her as I don't give private info to someone I don't know - the conversation finished

They called once, no message, second time I answered and it was market research of tvs in the home. Stupid me thought why not. Anyway basic tech questions, which was fine, then questioning changed to a more personal line. When I asked him what these questions had to do with the tv/tech research, he said they're wanting to capture the demographic. Rubbish! Got far too personal for my liking and I'm kicking myself for giving him even 2 minutes! Crooks!

I have received many calls as described above and I returned one, We are a marketing company, after hearing this, I hung up and no longer get calls from them that reach my handset. I blocked the caller and each time they call it fails. if you cannot do this contact your carrier they should be able to help or direct you to the right No.
There are the Police they have a link to the right people to track-down and prosecute nuisance calls to your number, you set up a monitoring link to your line and when they call you activate the link and they track that caller..

I received a call tonight. The lady I spoke with was nice however the call was something to do with TV Ratings? I question as to how she got my number and advised me that "the computer dialed random numbers" total crap !

This one is new to last few days. Only rings 3 or 4 times. We don't usually give out the landline number . And it's silent! I find that giving nuisance calls the NO RING tone works. But then they change a digit or two and the call directory gets full. Merciless they are. Is there some way of totally blocking these numbers. DN call register not really working.
