Caller: (02) 9189 3609 Rang but left no message. Too any scam calls are happening in the last couple of months. What is going on? What are telcos doing about this?

Received call from this number today identifying as being from Sydney. A lady called Lauren with a heavy Indian accent started talking. As soon as I heard the accent, I said 'no thank, not interested', then hung up. Number blocked.

Caller: "Alex" from Telstra Alex claimed that Telstra noticed unusual activity on our internet line. He wanted to talk me through a process where he could block this malicious traffic at the IP level. When I told him we do not use Telstra he was very defensive on how Telstra owns all the internet lines. Do not follow these instructions.

Caller: Scam Told my friend that her internet connection is being hacked by people overseas. Caller tried to get her to install an app so they could get remote access.

Caller: "James from Telstra's technical department" James told me there was a problem with my internet. I replied, Telstra is not my internet service provider. James said Telstra is Australia's largest internet service provider. I hung up. Got home and internet is fine. It's a scam.
