Rang but left no message. Too any scam calls are happening in the last couple of months. What is going on? What are telcos doing about this?

Claimed to be from telstra, I'm not even with telstra.

Received call from this number today identifying as being from Sydney. A lady called Lauren with a heavy Indian accent started talking. As soon as I heard the accent, I said 'no thank, not interested', then hung up. Number blocked.

Caller: Claimed to be from NBN

Called to download Teamviewer (the app gives them access to control your device)

i picked up and didn't say anything (thinking it was a scam) they hung up after a few seconds

Caller: Claimed to be Michael - with un Australian accent.

Caller: "Alex" from Telstra

Alex claimed that Telstra noticed unusual activity on our internet line. He wanted to talk me through a process where he could block this malicious traffic at the IP level.
When I told him we do not use Telstra he was very defensive on how Telstra owns all the internet lines.
Do not follow these instructions.

(02) 9189 3609 Recorded message supposedly from internet services to be cut off and to speak to a technician for NBN connection

Caller: Claimed to be from telstra

Lady claimed to be from Telstra saying my internet had been compromised. Tried to everything to keep me on the phone.

Didn't answer as no caller ID so very happy from others that it was potential scam

Indian trying to get access to my PC, Tried to get IP and access, what a PITA. Said they were from Telstra. BS as would not give me details to call him back at Telstra

Called Saturday afternoon, I didn't answer, highly unlikely to receive call from 02 code.

Someone by the name of Mary asking if my internet(nbn) was working and then when I told her who I was from she hung up

Told my friend that her internet connection is being hacked by people overseas. Caller tried to get her to install an app so they could get remote access.

Caller: "James from Telstra's technical department"

James told me there was a problem with my internet. I replied, Telstra is not my internet service provider. James said Telstra is Australia's largest internet service provider. I hung up. Got home and internet is fine. It's a scam.
