Caller: St George Bank It’s a legit number. In my case, it was my bank St George calling me while I was overseas - something to do with a complaint I’d filed. It looks like they share it with other banks.
It really wouldn’t hurt them to use private, secure internet banking messaging instead. Especially these days where every other call is a bloody scam.

Caller: St George Bank This is most definitely NOT a scam number! It's a group number for Westpac - including St George Bank, BankSA, and Bank of Melbourne. They called me about an online complaint I sent about daily balance alert emails suddenly stopping. I then received an email advising they had been trying to contact me. The dates referred to in the email aligned with the dates of the missed calls on my phone. That was fortunate, because I was about to block the number, thinking it might be a scam. As per other comments, to call back, use the 13 number.

Caller: St George or Bank of SA or Bank of Melbourne This number rings me every 2 days - rang back today and recorded message said it was the number for 3 banks in 3 different states. Also advised me to ring another general inquiry line. But I don't have any accounts with those banks. Too fishy not to think its a scam

Called back this number to which I was directed to a message service saying it was from either St George, Bank of SA or Bank of Melbourne. I don't have any association with these banks so sounds like a scam to me, how can this number be from 3 different banks? or are they the same bank just in different states?

They will claim to be your bank and ask you personal information to 'verify your identity' - just ring your bank directly as there are so many scammers out there these days.

(02) 9155 0907 called my wife and wanted to talk about "my package" with the bank. Wife said that her husband deals with the banking, so they should call her husband, which they did not.

Didn't recognise number so didn't answer. They left a 17 second "message" but there was only silence. Thought I must have had volume turned down so checked and tried to listen again but when I pressed play the second time it started dialling the number. Pressed hang-up several times and it wouldn't hang up so I turned my phone off. Will be keeping an eye on my bank accounts and changing all passwords!!
