Called at 2:15 am, 12:15am my local time. Went to message bank. Assume they thought “overseas” means should call at weird hours.

Lot of comments that it’s a valid call but they don’t leave a message?

Caller: St George Bank I received a call from this phone number checking if 2 recent online transactions were valid as they were both flagged by their fraud team as unusual activity for my account. They were both my transactions & I was grateful for the check in. He didn't ask for any additional info from me. Legitimate phone number.

Caller: It would be st George but can't ring back. You can't ring this number back as most calls from this centre is routed back through this number. I got a call I couldn't answer because of work but this call was after a text message and a fraud transaction was blocked.

Didn't answer as didn't recognise. Above messages reminded me I have been waiting for a call back from Westpac mortgages. I rang back but similar to above got the "disconnected" message -- annoying.

Caller: Westpac Security team They noticed that there is a large sum of money paid to a new payee from my account, checking if this is done by me. He also knew how much and who is the receiver, and asked what it was for to make sure it's okay

Answered call from this number but it hung up immediately. Called back and got recorded message saying number temporarily unavailable. Most odd. Could be scammers.

I received a phone call from above nu on Friday. The Guys said that he was from Westpac Bank and would like to check my account. Then he asked me to verify who I am. He also asked me the account no and address. I felt it was suspicious. I questioned him - how do i know you are from Westpac? I think that the Westpac should do this kind of call which was a waste of time.

Caller: Westpac This was westpac calling regarding a suspected fraudulent transaction on my credit card. I nearly didn't answer as they called and then hung up, then called another couple of times.

This number called but as I did not recognise it I did not answer. I then called back and it said 'this number is temporarily unavailable'. I contacted Westpac scam watch and they said they could confirm it is a legitimate number for Westpac.

I was talking with Westpac from their correct number on 132032, and the operator wanted to put me through to their international line. However someone from (02) 9155 0000 was trying to call through, I did not answer the call and the message left was a typical Westpac response of pressing numbers to different departments. I called (02) 9155 0000, only to find it disconnected. I called 132 032 again and explained to the operator what had happened and she checked the Westpac numbers and said (02) 9155 0000 was not in any way associated with Westpac. She went so far as to say it sounded like a scam. Sounds very dodgy, speculating the number could be spoofed by scammers, so sometimes it is legit and sometimes it isn't.
