I received a call from AMP on this number. I was very suspicious, given the comments on this site. I therefore called them back via their call centre number listed on their website. It turns out that the all was not a scam and they really did want to talk to me. Having said that - always ring them back on the listed number. Never give any details to a random caller folks! Nine times out of ten it will be a scammer!
Legitimate phone call from AMP.
wanting information on Super, is a big NO
AMP AMP had a cyber breach, they have some information on customers so they might appear to sound legit because they know your name, email or that you had contacted them regarding super. Recommend that if they do call you that you ask for a name and phone number to call them back on, if they hang up or give you a number different to what is on the AMP website it’s probably a scam.
Just AMP following up on my application. Call back on 131267. Caller: AMP
It is actually a legitimate call / number - just one of their dial-out numbers.
I received a call from them wanting more info after I sent them a Rollover initiation request.
The info they say is necessary is rubbish, but the request is genuine.
Caller: (02) 9056 0724
I didn't pick up the call but rang it back, number doesn't ring.
Just a call from this call centre also wanting us to ring them back on 131267. I am not with AMP. So blocked the number.
Just missed a call from this number, when I called back it's just a weird tone and dropped Caller: AMP
Number is safe.
Caller: Sounded like an operator in an Indian call centre
Said she was from AMP, checked my name, said that she was confirming a withdrawal and then hung up. Returning the call just got a series of unusual tones. I was worried because I had not tried to withdraw any money from AMP so I called AMP by the number on their website. Answered by a machine then waited 20 minutes in the queue to find that there were no abnormal transactions... yet (or ever, I hope)
So either someone is trying a scam hoping to catch vulnerable AMP customers, or AMP needs to hire a better call centre.
App blocked straight away. Thanks Missed their call but no message left. When I tried to call the number, I got a strange dial tone. Dodgy! Caller: Said they were AMP-Super
Said they were calling about my rollover from AMP-Super. First they wanted my full name then my date of birth, stupidly I gave it to them, they already had my email address. Thing is I do have a request to rollover my AMP. I tried to ring back, just a weird sound through the phone. Got on to the internet found AMP-Super phone number, they closed at 7.00pm, since the call came through at 7.40pm I'm pretty sure i've been scammed. Anyhow I guess I should start ring around tomorrow seeing what I can do to minimise any damage to be done.
International person called saying before they can confirm our Super rollover, we must provide Bank Statements showing our account numbers, when I questioned why they dont already have our bank details since they are our Super Fund, they hung up. Very suss. They also called at 7.30pm at night?
Called back a few times, all I got was a weird flat tone then something like an alarm - very sus called 5 times in a row. when u try to pick up it hangs up. when tried to call back it just gives a tone Voicemail said something about a withdrawal request. Considering I’m not with AMP I’m not going to call back.
