this freak keeps calling and saying nasty things to my Mum after he firstly tried to get her to give her information regarding her internet connection stating he was from her internet provider and there was some problem with it (my mum wasn't a fool so didnt give him the info in which he turned nasty on her) I answered this time and he was trying to find out if i was legal and over the age of 21? then he started laughing and making rasperries into the phone (he actually sounded rather drunk) and then asked if my "daddy" was home? then he said he would call back to speak with my mum later?? total weirdo. Can this be classed as harrasment? There is obviously some mentally disturbed Indian making phone calls to quiet a few people. It feels kind of "stalkerish"

Had a call from this number which hung up with a recorded message saying 'Thank you goodbye". I have previously worked for a small business to business telecoms firm in the UK and its usually calls like this that are placed by a robot. If someone picks up the robot will report that the telephone number called is in use. That information would then go to a database (i presume) for future telesales calls. Bloody sneaky and highly annoying, don't know how to stop it.

I had calls from this number and the guy tried to sell me funeral insurance from 'Freedom Insurance" and when I wouldn't give him my name he rang back 15 mns later pretending he was from Telstra and giving me a 3 month discount on bill. Just hang up on these prank callers and do not give out any info.

I keep getting calls from this wanker(s)!!

First called my mobile. Then started calling my home phone asking for me. If you say it's someone else they will hang up.

First of all try to talk about energy providers or something, the guy is a total creep.

Tried to force me to change my electricity provider, after me stating that I wasn't interested and had unlisted number. He began to get a bit nasty at end so hung up, even though don't like being rude. He is extremely pushy and I worry about his affect on others.

This may be the local translation for a VoIP line. I believe the calls where no one is there is an auto dialler testing to see if we are here and then the number might go into a queue for a real live telemarketer call. ( like we need another one). I might be wrong but that's my guess.

Getting several calls from this number. Very frustrating to say the least. Is there a way to stop this number calling again?

They call me once a week.

I just have this number saved as "spam" so I know not to answer.

Congratulated me on always paying my phone bill on time and said I was in line for a discount on my next bill. I said "so, just give me the discount" and hung up.

This number rings me at the same time every Saturday night. Pisses me off and I cannot block it on my phone. I just don't answer it. Whay can't these numbers be recognised and eliminated by Telstra... What are we paying for?

Same as the others; you answer, all quiet, then they hang up. Why do they bother wasting their money calling South Australia from NSW and saying nothing ? Redial the number and you get a Telstra message saying "your call could not be connected".

Rang twice today. Almost a call from them daily. I'm trying to run a business and don't need my time and the time of my staff wasted and goodness knows how many genuine calls from potential customers are missed while answering these calls. Mostly the caller hangs up when the phone is answered, maybe because we are a business and answer with a business greeting. I don't recommend using a whistle as this can leave the caller with a ringing in your ear for sometime but I don't recommend anyone should try this method of deterrent particularly if you can't identify the caller. Once you have identified the prank call maybe you could just put the phone down and come back in five or so minutes. If you can afford calling line identification you could choose not to answer the call. I'm not sure if the phone companies can bar calls to you from a particular number but it might be worthwhile calling your phone provider to find out. Alternatively some phones allow you to choose an individual ring tone associated with incoming calls. Have a great day and don't let these mugs get to you; there are more important things in life unfortunately the prank callers probably don't have one. Phew that is a lot to digest.

Got several missed calls from them. One guy called me on this number selling power upgrades or something to do with the electricity. Another time a woman called said she wanted to inform me of something then hung up. Everytime I call them they are disconnected. It's all very weird and dodgy.

Why doesn't Telstra just disconnect numbers like this??? When you are wheelchair bound and drag an oxygen cylinder to answer the phone and get this type of call it hinges on abuse using a communications device.
