They said they are from Australian Benefits!

I have received 6 calls from this number today - I called the number this evening & got through to someone named "Peter" (I'm pretty sure that's not his real name) from "Australia Benefits", I told him I objected to being called & having no-one answer & asked if he was in Sydney - no, he is in India ............... I'm afraid I was rather rude "##@@*&^^^". The number is now blocked on my phone.

Same here, I missed the call and upon returning the call I get on hold music.

I have had 5 calls about Life and Funeral insurance over the past month.

Called me 4 or 5 times yesterday and twice today, and I missed all the calls as I was busy at work.
Tried to call back, line opens and you get music like a call waiting or a call on hold music.
Hate these scams.

Have this number call my work number constantly - have told them many times not interested and to remove me from there call list... still get daily calls even though told them not interested

Just had my sixth call in 2 weeks. I believe they got my information from a survey in which I said NO to receiving marketing calls. They are selling funeral insurance. As soon as I answer now, I say this is the xth call and no, I do not want funeral insurance.

I keep getting calls. If I try calling back I get what sounds like call waiting music for 10seconds and the it cuts off.
Grr...

This number keeps calling I don't answer but when I go to call back it's beeping as if the number is on another call beep beep beep
Wish these call would end its stupid

Also keeps phoning and when u phone back it disconects. I am defnitly on the do not call register.... getting redic as I am getting 2-3 calls a day on my mobile

DEFINATELY SCAM NUMBER, add it to your blocked list

Everything I have read is similar to what happened to me. An Indian accent with a funny noise in the he background. Asking for a Mrs M. I said no not Mrs. They asked for Miss M then said my first name. I asked who they were. They said some company but it sounded bogus. Now I'm worried. How did they know my first name? Thinking of changing my number now.

Its cold calling from insurance line

Has called 3 times in two days - hangs up as soon as I answer. Blocked number now.

This is possibly coming from the northern beaches (Queenscliff) area of Sydney. Several calls received but the call disconnects after one or two seconds.

got a few of these calls in the last 2 days. I usually answer unknown numbers with silence... and wait for them to talk.. if they talk i just shout at them "Not Interested" and they go away. I like what someone else said here. Mark it as spam in contacts and then you can not answer and it falls of lists quickly.

I answered this number on a 'phone upstairs that does not have caller ID. So a man with an Indian accent asked if he was speaking to Mrs H... and I said "no I am her sister". He said that's ok, I am calling from Telstra to let you know that as a long standing customer, I was to get all my local calls free. I mentioned that we were moving in 2 weeks and would have a new number and he said no I could take my number, me-NO we are going to a different area. Don't know what I was being set up for, but Telstra would not be giving a third party this info, and why could he not see we already had a new number allocated....hmmmmmmmm.

They asked for my father and when I noted he is not here and asked who is calling, instant hang up. Cannot call back - engaged. It would make sense if it was a funeral plan scammer, as my dad is into his 70's. I am sick of people preying on the elderly.

All these local and state numbers are in fact a dime a dozen traditional numbers known as DID numbers. You can buy/hire from online VOIP telcos.

Indian scammers are prolific on these numbers as they call via the internet.

My Fritzbox 7390 wifi router allows me to ban all these numbers once I confirm their identity through these online sites. I currently have about 25 incoming numbers blocked. My phone is silent.

Had been getting these calls a few months ago then they stopped, never say anything, but now they have started again.I have been getting a few of these calls every day for the last few weeks and they always hang up. Soon as I see the number I just let it go to the answering machine and they leave no message. So annoying
