Received 5 calls from this number. The latest one has a "Robotic" voice message asking me to use my PC to link onto provided website to arrange for my parcel to be despatched from Sydney (I indeed do have a parcel from a Pharmaceutical Company that I am awaiting delivery confirmation for and I know I do not have to go to any such link, so who is supplying these dregs with this kind of information?). I ignored this as I did the previous 4 phone calls whereby they hang up when I answer after only 2 - 3 rings or they hang up after 10 - 12 rings. Either way they are a SCAM and an old-fashioned Aussie knuckle sandwich would serve them well. Caller: City of Casey council
Robocall from City of Casey council regarding hard waste collection. In a way it's fitting that such a famously shady council are using this shady messaging provider
Caller: Supercheap Auto
In my case it was Supercheap Auto telling me that a pickup was ready. I had selected the 'email me' option rather than 'phone me' when placing the order which they completely ignored, but that's another story. As others have noted, this number appears to be some sort of message service, partly legit, partly scammy.
recorded voice from Australian Military Bank saying my name, my account number and the fact my account was overdrawn by $2.50. checked online and indeed it was. I have had other calls from this number which were not the Australian Military Bank so I suspect this is a message service number was robotic voice telling me my delivery was being dispatched not sure which delivery service it was from but i also received and email at same time from supercheap auto saying my package was on it way How does this scam work?
What is the point of these annoying random calls .
How do they make money out of this?
It is a waste of everyone's time.
If Telstra was a responsible corporate citizen it would cut (02) 8999 0922 off as they have a history of this behavior
Called local business claiming to be Telstra wanting to fix a phone line. Got owner to give access to his computer then remotely hacked a bunch of financial info! Claims to be doing a survey on "postcodes". Asian female, very suspicious. They rang 8 times in 4 hours - rejected the call each time after reading the above comments....... Caller: Rebel Sport
Recorded message saying a parcel had been dispatched, which it had. Legit but weird.
Caller: (02) 8999 0922
Claims to be from VIC roads wanting money.
Interesting its from an 02 number.
Left robotic message from vic roads
A. I don’t have any car with that Licence plate
B. Why would anyone from Sydney ring for Vic roads?
C. All my correspondence from vic roads is via email
These turkeys are time wasters
Caller: (02) 8999 0922
I received a call from (02) 8999 0922 reminding me that I had an appointment with Specsavers Elanora tomorrow so have to assume that this number is a message service. Why Specsavers would use such a service is beyond me, you would think it would only take a minute for someone at Elanora to pick up the phone!
Caller: female voice recorded message saying had call from Auto and Safety certificates to call me
left call twice.
Caller: It was Supercheap Auto
I ordered online from Supercheap Auto. Ordering without providing phone-number was not possible. Thus, I was forced to write it into their form, BUT I requested to be informed VIA EMAIL, when order is ready. I received email. Nearly 1 hour later the phone did not stop ringing. The first 2 attempts I could not answer (was on the roof). I picked up the third time. And it was a Supercheap Auto Phone-Robot, telling me that my order is ready for pick-up. Now I really hope that they do not pass on my number to the other scammers described here.
I was talking to my bank on my work phone and setting up internet banking on a bank app on my personal phone. While I was talking to the bank operator on my work phone & going through the motions on my personal phone, I got a missed call from this number (02) 8999 90922 on my personal phone which is the one linked to the bank. The number left me a message and gave me the new SMS password to in put. The bank said they only send SMS and NEVER call with the SMS number to in put. Lucky I was talking to the bank on my work phone at the time and she was available on the spot to tell me not to use the SMS code from the missed call message ON MY PERSONAL PHONE. I was very lucky and think I dodged a bullet from a scammer. The bank has all the information and are following it up as a possible scam. Asian lady asking for a person in our company but then not giving any details about what she wanted saying she had urgent business that needed to be sorted by end of day. Said she was from Health Care Link. Very suss. Daily calls saying from vic roads and registration is due....... Asked for someone by their first name - I asked what it was about and they said that it was a private matter (what a cheek), so I put the phone down . Yet they were calling a public office. Block them, do not answer. I imagine it is a scam, or somebody collecting data. If you try call the number back, it is forbidden. Not sure. Caller: Local Library
12 Missed calls in less than an hour. I Returned Call, Busy Tone then they hung up. Ended up answering, automated message from my local library (in vic, not NSW?) telling me I had a book overdue.
