It's a company that calls ON BEHALF of a charity - which means their staff are paid, and the charity doesn't see every cent of your donation.
These guys are effectively telemarketers - your money would be better spent actually donating to the charity itself.

I don't answer numbers I don't know. A legit caller would leave a message and I would respond. If I want to donate to any charity I will do so directly, not via a collection agency - if that really is their aim. I have blocked them.

I've been getting calls from this number too and as soon as I read your post about the Careflight bear comp on FB, it clicked to me that I did that as well.

They keep calling every day but I would not answer. Finally rang the number back at 4 AM and the recording says Royal Institute for the Deaf and Blind Children. More likely a collection agency that gives the Society 10cents for every dollar they collect.
If you want to donate direct their genuine number is (02) 9871 1233....Do not use the collection agency !!!

Royal Institute for the deaf and blind. They don't fall into to the 'do not call' rules because they're a charity. If you were to answer a call, you can ask them not to call you, and they'll take you off their list. They're a good cause... and they help heaps of kids. Sling em' a few bucks if you can.

i hate is number (02) 8917 0011 keeping bloody calling and i have blocked the number.

Called my mobile which only a few friends and family have as it is an unlisted number. I rejected the call and blocked the number

This is a charity collection agency. I support several charities and have donated through a collection agency before. But is stated, you are better off going to the website of the charity you wish to support and donating directly to them.

They backed off immediately

Hasn't stopped calling, so annoying, comes up on my phone as SPAM caller...

Optus Advises that the number you have dialed has been disconnected!
Called twice in two days and this is the message I get when I call back,

Caller: I dont know

Keeps ringing, don't leave messages, I have blocked the number but I still get a notification every time they call.

Scam. The caller started the conversation with I not ringing for money I just want to tell you about the work we are doing with Careflight. HAHA Within a minute, the caller then wanted a donation.
Or should I say my credit card details.

Phone marked called as potential scam, so came on here to find out it’s for Careflight. Did recently sign a petition online but can’t remember if I left my number, even so I do not make donations via phone calls. Scammers use fake emails all the time, what’s to stop them from making fake phone calls too? Anyone could be calling to gain your CC information. Had this happen in regards to a Superannuation Fund, very professional call asking for me to confirm details, including TFN. After several calls, I asked for an email to be sent, the email was missing letterhead or any method of identifying which Fund it was, just a demand for my TFN, bank details.
