I have been emailed by a scammer who wants me to provide goods and services and a cash advance to pay his removalist (this number) I have found other incidences where this has occured. You can report this to ACORN (www.acorn.gov.au) to report cybercrime. I confirmed that this was a legitimate address with my local police station.

Yep, got the exact same deal here- wanted new PCs and repairs. Wish there was a point to reporting him but as said above- police wont act without actual fraud. Need to find someone who has been caught by his scam.

My PC repair business was contacted. He was asking me to repair PCs, pay removalists, etc, so things could be set up in his new home after he got out of hospital for operation regarding his hearing impairment. There was mention of $2,850 as deposit. This phone number was supposedly the number for the removalist. NSW area code - I am in Victoria. I asked where he was moving to and he gave me a valid address in my suburb. I am still playing him along.

I was contacted today by email with a story about being deaf (no point asking for a number to call him), and now asking if I can process a credit card payment on his behalf to pay a removalist that does not have a card facility!! As if!! This number was given as contact for said removalist.

Yep, this number was associated with a credit card scammer who contacted me to try to launder money through making deposits on computer hardware to my business... strung him along for a while before he stopped contacting... Do not give your bank details to him or run his credit cards. It is likely he is running stolen cards to then get a refund from you using his own accounts.

Agreed. Dodgy fraudster claiming to be tow truck driver working for a certain 'John McKay'. Obviously targeting car detailing businesses.

Have not received any calls but I also agree that this number may well be connected with email/internet scamming using a two phase series of emails to lure people into a guilt/sympathy trip to pay money to a purported transporter ahead of delivery to release goods for the deaf hospitalised receiver (no phone) who initiated phase one of the emails. No doubt I am yet to receive the plea to comply from both phase 1 & 2 senders for an advance payment.
