We received this email... and to top it off a person called to communicate with our business over the phone as a follow up - as the punter claimed to be hearing impaired trying to get this scam across the line...

I am hearing impaired and I am at the hospital right now will undergo a surgery

so this is the best way to communicate.

I want you to install (2 sets) I don't mind if you recomend good product for me. Let me know the price

for the new AC and the estimated price for installation. The Removalist would be bringing the keys to

access to my new home at 37 Hawthorne Street New Farm Qld 4005.as they are helping me move in all my

house furniture and other properties.

Also i will need a contact name and other necessary details of your company so i can get it to the

removalist. Once I get this information I can arrange with the removalist suitable date for both to

meet on site and you can have my credit card details to charge for your service.

Await your respond soon.

Thanks.

I think we have been hit with the same scam, person in hospital undergoing ear surgery. They pretended they were interested in a StoneSet driveway. They wanted to give us $2.5k on their credit card card to then send to the $2k to their removalist and we keep $500 as a deposit for work we have not even quoted for So suspect! We declined.

Looks like this is in the UK too, i too do computer repairs as a hobby, and someone called Wilfred Jones joneswilfred90 @ gmail.com, asked me to repair 2 computers and build a new one, i sent of my price, said he was moving house and currently in hospital and is hearing impaired, so email is only the best way to contact, the Removalist, we don't call them that in the UK, also had no phone contact, i've been given the name IGOR ALEKSEEVICH, from AZ Removals and an email address atozremovals.transport @ hotmail.com, Wilfred only wanted to pay via credit card! wanted me to pay the removal company because apparently they can't accept bank transfer.. i call bullsh*t ! how they make money out of this i don't know.

I have a computer repair business and was contacted by this guy too. Name Wiley Patrick using a gmail account. He said he would pay me for my services and a new computer and give me an additional $3850 to then pay the removalist as they don't accept credit cards. I don't know how he would have gotten money out of this scam as i didn't reply after this.

It doesn't look like the police is doing anything about it. I reported to ACORN (www.acorn.gov.au) like other people in 2015 and the scam is still going.

I own a vehicle repair business in New Zealand and I have been contacted by this guy also. Wants to give me a credit card number to pay a bogus shipping company to get their car to my workshop for repairs. Obviously a scam. Im guessing if I pay this "shipping company" the credit card payment will then be cancelled. Also got a story about having to go to hospital because a hearing impairment. This is also the excuse for me not being able to make phone contact.

I'm a removalist and we were contacted by email to move household furniture which was to include some new furniture which had been ordered from a third party Both the pick up and delivery addresses were legitimate. The twist was we were asked to pay for the new furniture out of our bank account once the funds had been credited to our account from a credit card number that was to be provided to us. No doubt the card was stolen or cloned (we never got as far as being given the details). This was a totally unreal scenario and we smelled a rat from the outset. We have reported it on www.acorn.com.au

Same scammer (ie) Francesca Giaretta with Igor Alekseevich from A-Z removals. This is the second time (1st time from another entity) with same M.O. Asking for alarm system installation and pay by credit card as they are deaf and in hospital. I found this page by googling the phone number left for A-Z removals to see how common this was.

I got this email too. Received from George Edward (eddywizedove @ gmail.com) wanting computers repaired and purchase another computer but wanted us to pay his removalist (Ph: (02) 8880 0735) and charge his credit card, etc, etc.
Luckily I realized it was a scam and didn't take it any further.
I've reported the email to ACORN. Don't know if any action will be taken but hopefully this scumbag gets stopped.
