They gained my info from gumtree about an car accident and I use an alias on there so I know there so I know it wasn't legit

100% a scam of some kind. Posted up a bike I was wrecking and they called asking about an accident. This bike was written off 5+ years ago. So absolutely a scam.

Hi there I posted a new add on gumtree this morning also for a wrecked car and this number has just called me. I didn't answer as a number that looks like this is too far away from my location and if it was a legit buyer they can leave a message. Fortunately I do not put my full address or full name on gumtree. Be careful what details you provide in your ads it's all too easy for people to contact you and con you into anything.

I to just received a call from Steven Jarrad( if its his real name) telling me that I'm allow compansation for my injury's I also have the car on Gumtree which is a write off which he also told me the make an model not to be re registered

Yep, us too today and my husband did have an accident a couple of months ago, although he was at fault. This guy was really pushing to get the details of who my husband hit accidentally.....

Just got the call from the same number. (02) 8880 0230, saying Road Transport Authority. They accused me of having accident in the last 2 years. They have strong Indian accent.

Someone saying they were from Road Traffic Management (John) asking for details about a recent car accident so they can assess my eligibility for compensation. They could/would not provide me with further details. I'm not due for any compensation relating to a car accident or otherwise.
