These people have been calling me from this number and (02) 9770 0165 sporadically over the last few months saying they are calling about a car accident I had last year. I wasn't even in the country last year and when I said this the woman hung up. At the end of last year I said the same thing and the man kept insisting I had had a car accident but this wasn't possible.

Ringing about an accident I had twelve months ago. Didn't give out too much detail. Have asked for a call back with insurance claim number and vehicle rego. They have no chance. Sick and tired of scammers. Call Raj.

PS to my previous comment. REPORT to the ACCC (not ASIC as I previously said) Here is the link. https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam There are also links to the Australian Federal Police if you Google "how to report a scam online." These are professional CRIMINALS with much of your personal info to hand. PLEASE report them. Cheers

THESE SCAMMERS need to be REPORTED TO ASIC....I am about to do just that. It would carry a lot more weight with ASIC if you all did the same please. Cheers.

Strange given I advent driven a car for two years.
when i called back after he hung up I was told this is a travel agency and someone must be using their number.

Second call I've had from these people (first time it was a private number) - told me he was from the (RTA) Road Traffic Service (because thats what RTA stands for) and I'd had an accident (that I apparently didn't remember)- twigged to it being dodgy pretty quick but didn't think to see how many of my details he knew - he didn't know the make or model of my car or the state I live in at least.

They have called me on 2 occasions now, the first time I saved the number in my phone. Today the guy had a fake American accident and claimed to be called Dave. I asked why he was cling me at night and demanded to know where he was from. When I told him to get lost and to F off, he kept calling back asking for a whore called Meg. He called back 4 times in short succession.

Had two calls from the same number. Ethan with an Indian accent said he was from Government Department - Road Traffic Management. Said, I was in an accident two years ago and was eligible for compensation. Smelt a scam, as I haven't been an accident for last 20 years. Asked for my details. He got agitated when I pointed out he must have my details as he is the one who rang me. He rang off when I asked if his parents are proud of him [for making scam calls]?

Called and said I'd been in an accident this year, and was owed compensation. When I said i hadn't they said has anyone been in an accident at your address. Again, no. He said you know someone ran into you.. Umm no I think I'd remember that!! I asked where they were calling from 3 times and it sounded dodgy. The road transport accident management (wtf?!) and they got the data from the national survey management (again wtf?)... Dodgy, dodgy, dodgy! Hang up & block!

This mob called from either the Road Traffic Company, the Accident Department or the Transport Management Department. They are totally fraudulent. They call on my mobile, my husband's mobile and our home phone several times a week. they do not stop. They must have personal details from somewhere. Getting totally sick of them. We've had Chris. Josh and today someone new......but with exactly the same spiel. told him to P*#S OFF and stop calling me.

I have been receiving calls from this number and saying they want to pay me personal injury insurance and they asked me first (or stated) that I was in a car accident this year? They said they were from RTA Insurance.....they are scammers definately! I heard a guy in the background telling the man what to say, and when you start to ask a lot of questions they get flustered and hang up! Sounds Indian to me....best thing to do is follow that gut feeling and tell them where to go!

Had a call today from this number regarding an accident they said I had 2 years ago (I've never had a car accident) claimed to be from DMV. Have his name as Aamar Choley Wala. Would not give me his employee ID number and hung up when I pushed the matter. He was able to give me some of my personal details.

Similar comment as above, phone call to my mobile claiming to be Road Transport Management and processing an insurance claim for a recent car accident. I talked with a "senior supervisor", who eventually hung up. I called the number back and got a name: Stephen Harrison. He asked if I was going to report this, and hung up after I said yes.
