(02) 8823 3005 called claimed to be kids for cancer, claimed they are a charity and do not require to abide by the do not call register

Called here at 7:00pm. Was a charity.

I had a missed call from this number today aswell,when i tried to return the call it said the number was disconnected, go figure.

charity keeps ringing...its so annoying...please stop them

Apparently being on the Do Not Call register does not prevent charities from calling.

Got a call Saturday morning at 10:05am from (02) 8823 3000 and it was a hang up. now saved the number on my digital home phone under the title of "DO NOT ANSWER" so next time they call I know top ignore the phone. I've accumulated several numbers on my phone under this title and once I see "Do not Answer on the screen" I'm not bothered about it. If you want to get fancy you can assign a specific ring tone to these numbers so you know to ignore them

My homeline (voice number) received a call from (02) 8823 3000. A simple Google search reveals that it is possibly from the Sydney CBD. However, it could be a geographic number for IP-based services, though likely not nomadic. I'm thinking the Caller ID is displayed for the intent of misleading phone subscribers that the call is being placed by a person or business located in the particular geographic area. In that case, and combined with other posters' comments about this number, it could be a marketing company possibly located anywhere in the world and which represents several different businesses.Perhaps the Australian Communications Media Authority could shed more light on it. www.acma.gov.au
