received a call automated voice stating from public prosecutions phoned back unable to understand person on the other end but stated he was from the a t o then said yes public prosecution then hung up when i asked if he was also centrlink

Answered phone and immediately heard a recorded message (same as others have mentioned below) advising they were from the ATO and that I need to call them back before the police showed up on my door. Lol!

Spammer! Robot call in from (02) 8417 2366 warning this was the ATO and to avoid police coming to my door with arrest warrant to phone them back on (02) 8417 2366. Have now blocked this number.

ATO Scam I rang them back and gave them a mouthful all the want is money..

I answered this time. Usually I ignore if I don't know the number. It is a recorded message with a warning saying they are from the ATO. I called them back and this is NOT the ATO despite what they will try to tell you. Blocked this number.

Rang back this number and they said they were Australian tax office

Seems to be ATO scam.Called and left voicemail with an automated message but did not state the "company" they were calling from. American accent said "before you face police officers at your doorstep or at your place of employment we want you to call (02) 8417 2366" called the number back so I could find out who they claimed to be and man with Indian accent said "Thanks for calling ATO how can I assist you"

SCAM !!! Rang only a few times and them stopped. No messages left. SCAM !!!
If anyone calls you on Thursday or Friday using a phone number you never seen before, it is definitely a scam. Also any unlisted phone numbers are nearly always used by scammers, so do _NOT_ answer them.

fake recorded message in US accent starts off This is a final warning from the Australian Taxation Office... I h ung up and blocked it.
