Recorded message from scammers purporting to be from the ATO saying we are under surveillance and legal action will be taken and we will be placed under arrest, but please call the number.

Left three messages on my answering machine, all word-for-word the same text - talking about "bad taxes" and claiming to be from the ATO. Seem to be targeting the Canberra area right now.

My 90 year old grandmother has just missed a call from this number. While I'm here with her they better hope they don't ring back!

These guys are idiots. I know it's a scam as they tried it last year as well - pretending to be the legal team from the ATO.
I called them back to annoy them. Indian guy with the thickest accent then thought it would be more convincing to say his name was Jason O'Connor. Typical Indian name apparently. If you say to them you know it's a scam, they swear at you and abuse you. So funny hearing an Indian swearing at you in English trying to say the most insulting things. Call them back and have some fun with them. Block your number first just in case.

I called the number and asked for their address, they gave me a wrong address.

It would appear that the scammers have started again given it is tax time.

Jennifer Smith (I doubt this) called to tell me there was a warrant from the ATO for 'Bad Taxes' and not to ignore this message...

ATO threatening message not good fill heaps better after reading all above messages "scums"

I received a call today & they left a message, but this is the 2nd time they have tried to scam me. The first they tried this, I actually called ATO and they confirmed that it was NOT ATO and I gave them the details. DO NOT EVER CALL THEM BACK, UNLESS YOU ARE HAPPY TO SWEAR YOUR HEAD OFF AT THEM

It claims a legal lawsuit for tax fraud against you by ATO without giving your name or caller name.I would report them to ATO.

It's a scam! Second time they've left a message. If this has been reported to scam watch in 2015, how come it's still happening? Would unsettle some people. Report it.

I just received this too. It's a scam, I had just paid my tax and received my refund 2 days before the call.

Aggressive, nasty message threatening legal action for tax avoidance. I would never fall for it but some could be persuaded to call the number

They did this to my neighbour. They were very agressive talking on the phone. He's just told me so I looked up the number for him

Got the same left on message bank 5/11. Has anyone actually phoned the number back? What happens if you do?
