Called this number back and spoke to a guy called ERIC WATSON I asked for a phone call refrance number took him a minute came back with a number and told me to get a lawyer. This happened about 12 mths ago so I new t maybe a scam

SMELLS like a SCAM, looks like a scam> probably is a scam! ATO doesn't operate like this. Need to hunt them down and lock them up (that's the polite version), wherever they are. Ask that they be imprisoned where they live (our prisons are too comfortable). Imagine the angst this would cause a retiree, or a struggling small business. Some little old lady might have a heart attack, or lose their life's savings to this scum.

Scam call. Recorded message from ATO saying have a legal case file against you containing tax fraud and tax evasion. You are under government surveillance. Its a criminal case and seek your attention before it goes to court and to call this number. If no action taken a warrant for arrest by federal police.
Here we go again the usual Tax scammers around tax time. Pathetic grubs. Hope they are caught.

Got same recorded message today, a SCAM.

Scam; recorded threatening message claiming to be ATO with debt outstanding.

Recorded message stating that the recipient is under investigation for tax evasion. Clumsy use of English vocabulary helps to alert the recipient to its dodginess.

Quite clearly the old "Australian tax office scam" .
This is the number they want you to call.........

This was a recorded message apparently from the Tax Office in regards to Tax evasion & fraud. They want to contact us before a warrant is lodged with the federal police. At least the message finished off wishing us a good day.

two obvious recorded messages left, both identical, warning me that I am on file for tax defraud and evasion.... and that I am under Govt surveillance... and that I must resolve this issue before it goes to court... Am ignoring all this garbage but these individuals MUST BE STOPPED.....

Automated message claiming to be from the ATO stating I was under investigation for tax fraud and to contact them at this number to sort things out before court action. Obviously fake.

This is an arrest warrant scam related to alleged unpaid taxes , recorded voice message demanding that you call back and discuss the problem.

Claiming to be from the Tax Dept. recorded message saying an arrest warrant has been issued. Can talk to them on same number to circumvent this. I called was asked my full name - I told them they should be able to tell me. They hung up

Had a call from this number , was a recorded message in well spoken but foreign accent saying that I was under investigation for tax fraud and I need to call the number that they gave ( I did not record it ) , started with 283 . No doubt a "fee" would apply and my details would be needed to make it go away. Smells like scam to me !!
