This is a SCAMMER pretending to be the tax office with a warrant out for your arrest. It is an automated voice left on your answering machine.

Criminal scam purporting to be ATO. Police should be with them shortly.
Note the use of the word "revert" in the message. We don't use it much here but it is common in India.

I too received same recorded message on my answering machine. Hopefully the authorities will arrest these scumbags sooner rather than later

Home phone and Home Office phone within 5 minutes received same message on both lines. Total scam. ATO will ring and identify themselves or will write. Being an accountant and Tax Agent for 35 years, I have never ever had the ATO ring like this.

I rang the number back to tell the person I was going to shove there head up there bum if they did this again (3rd time) and the ignorant tosser hung up on me

This is a Scam. The ATO Website states that at no point will a warrant for your arrest be issued:

"The ATO will never:

threaten you with immediate arrest
ask you to pay money to receive a refund or payment from us
ask you to pay a debt via iTunes vouchers, or pre-paid credit card or store gift cards
ask you to provide personal information, such as your tax file number (TFN) or credit card number, via email or SMS
ask you to pay money into a personal bank account
direct you to download files from the internet, or open attachments in unsolicited emails."

Our Telcos have the technology to bar these type of calls, track down the account holders and hold them accountable - why won't/don't they?

Obviously a scammer. Their recorded message is fun to listen to.

I've been called 6 times today by this number and (02) 8301 2061.
The recorded message has no details about who the call is for. There are 4 young professionals in the house affiliated the number they called. Who is it for? Which one of us has committed tax fraud?

Message left on my phone yesterday and again today. Claims that I am wanted for tax fraud and evasion.
A non-bailable warrant for my arrest is about to be issued unless I call the number. This needs to be stopped!

Message to an elderly lady threatening to arrest her for tax payments not paid. Said they were from the Tax Investigation Team and give you a badge number.
