I got offered $7589. Would have been nice....

This is nothing but a scam hang up on them

Received a phone call and was offered a refund from the Finance Dept. of the Australian Government for over charges from our bank for $7589 from Daniel Bryin - Ref No NA165. Had to ring (02) 8310 7052 back to confirm money to be received. Rang them and they wanted $250 to be paid by credit card details to cover legal costs. I told them to take it off the cheque and they said they couldn't. I told them it was a scam and they hung up. BEWARE IT'S A SCAM - SCAM - SCAM.

Unfortunately, I was only offered $7000! Still a scam, though!

An unnamed Federal Govt department offering my wife $9,900.00 + as a refund for being overcharged by her bank. The caller asked whether an EFT transfer or cheque was preferred.

Scam. Fake tax agent.
