Same pre-recorded woman's voice saying I had 'to confirm credit details' before money could be sent to my address - not only stupidly unbelievable, but left on my answering machine with that same number number!

Same recorded call, saying its about the cash assistance scheme from Centrelink. Didnt mention an amount. When I (stupidly) rang back, I heard lots of noises and wondered if they were tracing the call somehow, so I hung up quickly. They didnt answer the phone with a department name, so obviously using a few different ones.

I had message left (sounds computer generated voice) that Centrelink payment is available up to $10,000 for hardship. SCAM!!

I got the same message, ITS A SCAM!!!!!!!!! ATO, pls investigate!

Just left two messages on my voice mail. SCAM Going to ring the ATO to let them know.

I just got the same message and the same amount $783. I haven't done my tax either. Yep its a Scam

(02) 8282 5250 - only just picked up message left 4 days ago and its telling me I have a $783 tax refund - Not bloody likely when you have not done your tax return is it!!!

Automated person left same message on my phone $783+ same phone number. Pretty stupid really, its nearly tax time, include in my next return! LOL

A lady by the name of Avril (gave her ID number as 7698) from the ATO Verification Department asked me to verify information that was on my Income Tax Assessment in order to get an additional refund amount of $783. She already had my name and address ... glad I did this scam-check before providing any details!

Also had a message left on the answering machine claiming to be from the Australian Taxation Office, with a refund requiring security verification at the above number. Very suspicious. Haven't heard anything from HoaxSlayer about this yet...

Called the taxation office and it is definately a scam, and they will be looking into it. They have the number now.

So glad I looked up the number as the ATO do actually owe me a refund! The automated voice was the reason I checked out the number.The number wasn't blocked it came up on caller id.

I got the same recorded phone message, definitely a scam.

Just got the same message left by a machine to call for my $784 refund. I have a Tax Agent who my refund would go to, no doubt this is a scam.

Automated message, wants your details for a $700 ATO refund

Just got the same call saying i had a return over $700- SCAM!!!

I received a call with the same suggestion that it was the ATO wanting to give me a refund for $700 or so.

Just go the same phone call - woke my baby up, claimed to be the ATO, told them that I didn't beleive them, and they hung up on me
