This number calls muliple times a day and then hangs up - very annoying

They get a computer to call your number. If you answer, the computer registers "a hit" and many times, there's nobody on the line. They call back later and hit you up for money. This is not a charity calling, but a Business working on their behalf. Tell 'em you won't give to any charities who spend your donation on harrassing people by phone. Tell 'em also, we have an internet campaign going, to warn others and erradicate this practice of harrassment.

The fools called me again, so I called back after hours.

Message says Australian Red Cross - and you can hear it with a good signal - too bad if your phone is junk and you live in a slum! Message really needs to say their name after a short intro like HELLO you have called the ... sorry but no one is here ATM so call us back!

Oh by the way - Dear Australian Red Cross, No I will not be giving money or blood because it simply leads to BS unwanted calls.

Primarily this is for the Red Cross selling raffle tickets. However, if you were stupid enough like I was and agreed to sell some for them you will now not only get constant phone calls for every new raffle they are running, but you will also find that they onsell their phone lists to other "Charity" organisations and you will get harassing phone calls from them as well. I have told them at least a dozen times that I do not want anymore calls from them but it does not stop. I am now considering legal action against them. They may be a charity but their call centres still have to abide by harrassment laws.

Have received calls from this number on mobile and home number. They should not have access to either. I do not answer.

Just call the number back and talk to one of the lovely folk that answer and ask not to be called. Its amazing they are really nice and add you to their Do Not Call Register!

Yes, same thing happening to me. Keep getting calls from (02) 8218 4820. Goes to message bank but nobody ever leaves a message.

The Do not call register is a joke. So Is ringing telstra to block your number. We have A silent number but bull sh*t. I am going to ring telsta and complain

This phone number IS a REAL landline from the "Red Cross". Though, I phoned Red Cross Australia head office this morning and they told me that no-one has been assigned to call anyone from this number for quite some time!

it is the red cross,,, I can't think of another way to get the message across is to just stop donating to them,,,, they soon will fix their system

It is the red cross calling anyone who signed up to the big bake cake sale or any fundraisers and have not put the money or donations through. They are having issues with it and it hangs up.
